The extra games may not matter if they do not improve their 12-15-2 record on the road.

Montreal Canadiens
Cole Caufield sniped two goals eight seconds apart in Tuesday night’s 6-3 losing effort versus the Arizona Coyotes. Sam Montembeault started his fifth game in just 10 days and showed fatigue getting pulled after allowing four goals on seven shots.
Caufield is on a tear with 19 points (10G, 9A) over his past 15 games. He has climbed up to third on the team with 27 points in 45 games. After being a healthy scratch Tuesday GM Kent Hughes pulled the trigger and traded coveted defenceman Ben Chiarot. The deal sent Chiarot to Florida for a prospect, a first-round pick and a fourth-round pick.
