New Jersey’s two-game winning streak was snapped in a 4-3 home loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday as the Devils looked for the unlikely season sweep. They led both 1-0 and 2-1 in the first but wouldn’t score again until about five minutes remained in the game. Marcus Johansson scored a goal and assisted on another. He has 12 goals and 15 assists and could well be traded by Monday.
Travis Zajac played in his 900th career game, becoming the sixth player to reach at least 900 with the Devils franchise. Kinkaid allowed four goals on 28 shots to lose for the eighth time in the past 10 and fall to 15-18-6 with a 3.36 GAA and .891 SV. Centre Pavel Zacha (11G, 6A) sat Tuesday with an upper-body injury.
