Winnipeg outgunned San Jose 41-30 in shots in Tuesday’s loss, and have recorded 33 or more shots in five of seven contests. The club has also received steady goaltending, allowing more than three goals just once in seven games. However, the Jets’ leading goal scorer Mark Scheifele has failed to find the back of the net in nine games and counting, and has been limited to one or fewer shots on five occasions over that stretch.
The focus of recent trade speculation, Pierre-Luc Dubois has done little to boost his value on the market while producing just three points in his past 10 games, and rearguard Josh Morrissey has failed to score in his past 10 outings. The Jets can expect to face another hot hand in net tonight. But this team should also benefit from the hectic schedule faced by the Red Wings, who hot the ice for their third game in four nights.1
