Igor Shesterkin picked up his 21st win of the season on Monday. The Rangers’ workhorse goalie has appeared in 35 of New York’s 46 games and has a .918 save percentage and 2.44 goals against average.
Toronto Maple Leafs
William Nylander and Auston Matthews became the first Leafs skaters to hit 25 goals this season when both found the back of the net Monday. Nylander had two goals in the win to get him to 26 on the season, while Matthews’ empty-netter made him a 25-goal-scorer too. Nylander is now tied with Mitch Marner for the team lead in points at 56 each.
Ilya Samsonov started his third straight game in net on Monday, and is in line to make it four starts on Wednesday. Samsonov is 15-4-2 on the season with a team-best .920 save percentage.
