Philadelphia Flyers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs: NHL Odds, Prediction
The Philadelphia Flyers and Toronto Maple Leafs are both in a bit of funk heading into Saturday’s matchup. The Flyers have dropped two straight while giving up 11 goals in the process. The Leafs have lost two of three, allowing 15 goals in that span. Given how poorly both teams have played at their back end, we could be in for an exciting, high-scoring affair on Saturday night.

NHL Odds and Betting Analysis
In terms of the betting line, you might want to consider the over. Eight of the Leafs 10 games have gone over, including all three of their Saturday games. They have played six homes games where the total was six or higher, and the over has cashed five times.
In terms of the sides, the Flyers and the Maple Leafs have split their last 10 meetings with the Maple Leafs winning two of three last season.

Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers fell short in a 5-4 loss in Ottawa on Thursday, marking their third loss in four games. Jakub Voracek, Travis Konecny, Ivan Provorov and Sean Couturier (who added a pair of assists as well) all scored for the Flyers, who lost 6-2 in their previous game against Anaheim. They have allowed five goals or more in three of their five losses this season. That’s really been the difference for them. In their wins, they’re giving up 1.8 goals per game in their wins and 4.0 goals per game in their losses.
Offense hasn’t been an issue as they’re eighth in goals scored and 11th on the power play. However, the Flyers are 12th in goals against and 23rd in penalty killing and that threatens to doom their season. Brian Elliott is 4-2-0 with a goals against average of 3.33 and a save percentage of .876, while Michal Neuvirth is 1-3-0 with a goals against average of 2.30 and a save percentage of .925.
Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs are also coming off a loss, a 6-3 shortcoming to Carolina on Thursday. It was their second 6-3 loss in their last three games. The Maple Leafs are 25th in goals allowed and have given up exactly six in each of their three losses. They are one of the most exciting teams in the league but the Leafs are terrible at the back end. Goaltender Frederik Andersen continues to get shelled as he has a paltry 3.54 GAA and a .893 save percentage. He’s allowed at least three goals in six of his last eight starts.
The Leafs blue line hasn’t really helped him out much. The team made a small move to sign Roman Polak last Sunday to shore up the group. There are already trade rumors starting up as the Leafs have a bevy of talent up front to dangle. Early speculation has started to hone in on names like Chris Tanev (Vancouver Canucks) and Mike Green (Detroit Red Wings) as the Leafs current unit simply hasn’t been good enough.
Flyers vs. Maple Leafs Prediction:
Maple Leafs 5-3
