Pittsburgh Penguins continue their road trip out west with a matchup against Utah Mammoth on Monday night at Delta Center.

The game will be Pittsburgh’s fourth and final game of its current road trip, which has seen the Penguins drop the first three games of the trip to the Blackhawks, Avalanche and Golden Knights.

On the other side, the Mammoth are looking to bounce back after falling 6-2 to the Oilers in their last outing on Saturday. This is the first matchup of the season between these two teams.

Penguins vs. Mammoth NHL Betting Odds

Playing on home ice, Utah enters as a -185 favourite on the NHL odds board, while Pittsburgh is +154 to win.

On the puck line, Mammoth -1.5 is valued at +136, while Penguins +1.5 is -162. The game total is set at 6.5, with odds of -125 on the Over and +105 on the Under.

At +140, Utah’s Dylan Guenther has the shortest odds of any player to score a goal in this game. Guenther enjoyed a breakout season last year, as he totalled 40 goals. He is off to a strong start this season, as he’s potted four goals through nine games.

With odds of +205, Pittsburgh’s Bryan Rust has the shortest odds of any Penguin to score a goal in the contest. Rust has scored 28+ goals in each of the last three seasons, and has three goals through six games to start the 2026-27 campaign.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins were a bit of a surprising team last season by posting 98 points and finishing second in the Metropolitan division. However, Pittsburgh would lose to in-state rival Philadelphia in the first round of the playoffs.

Coming off that disappointing early postseason exit, the Penguins are off to a slow start in 2026-27. They enter this Monday night matchup against Utah with an overall record of 3-5-1, and are riding a three-game losing streak.

Veteran defenseman Erik Karlsson paces the Penguins with nine points this season, all of which have been assists. Evgeni Malkin leads the team with five goals.

Pittsburgh has struggled defensively this season, as their 3.56 goals per game allowed is the seventh-highest mark in the NHL. Arturs Silovs and Sergei Murashov have been splitting the goaltending duties, but neither has been overly impressive.

Silovs owns a 3.20 goals-against average and .875 save percentage, while Murashov is sporting a 3.50 goals-against average to go along with an .883 save percentage.

Utah Mammoth

The Mammoth are off to a fast start this season. Utah is 6-3-0 and their offence continues to hum at an impressive rate.

They enter this matchup scoring 3.67 goals per game, which ranks seventh in the NHL. Nick Schmaltz leads the way with six goals, four of which have come on the power play. Utah’s man advantage is tops in the league at 35.3%.

Goaltender Karel Vejmelka finished second only to Andrei Vasilevskiy in wins last season, and he is 5-2-0 to start the new campaign.

Along with owning a prolific offense, the Mammoth are also a sound defensive team who thrive at preventing easy scoring chances. So far this season, they are allowing just 22.9 shots on goal per game, which is the third-best mark in the NHL.

NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Penguins vs. Mammoth?

The Penguins are in a major rut right now and things won’t get any easier going on the road to face a well-rounded Mammoth team.

They have much better scoring depth than the Penguins, and their lethal power play gives them a big advantage.

Utah are coming off a loss, but they have yet to lose back-to-back games so far this season. Playing at home, look for the Mammoth to find the win column in this one.
