Neither club got an outcome they wanted yesterday, with Edmonton falling 2-1 at Minnesota and Nashville going down 1-0 in overtime at St. Louis.

Puck drop at Bridgestone Arena begins at 8 p.m. EST, with Edmonton a slight -120 moneyline favourite on the road and the total at 6.5 on the NHL odds.
Oilers vs. Predators NHL Betting Odds
It’s been pure Oilers dominance when these clubs clash, with Edmonton riding a seven-game win streak over Nashville and averaging over four goals per game in their last 10 meetings. Tuesday’s the second of three regular season meetings between these clubs, with the first being a 7-4 Edmonton win where Leon Draisaitl had a five-point night and Connor McDavid a four-point outing.
The over has connected in seven of Edmonton’s last nine overall, but the under is 9-4 in Nashville’s 13 home games this season and five of their last seven overall. An underdog role does bring out goals in Preds games though, as the over has hit in 13 of Nashville’s last 19 as the dog.
Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton has scored at least five times in all of their most recent four wins, so a one-goal performance against Minnesota was definitely not going to get the job done. Stuart Skinner made his fifth straight start in net in the loss at Minnesota, making 28 saves on 30 shots faced. That puts Jack Campbell in line to make his 14th appearance this season, and it’s a favourable spot against a struggling Nashville offence that’s on a back-to-back too.
With an assist on Edmonton’s lone tally Monday, Connor McDavid registered his league-leading 54th point this season. Leon Draisaitl failed to score for just the second time this month, but comes into Tuesday having 20 goals in 21 career games against Nashville.
Nashville Predators
The Predators offence has gone ice cold in the month of December, with the team potting 12 goals in five appearances. Nashville also got shut out for the second time in their last seven games and third time this season. The Preds are now 29th in the NHL with 2.5 goals per game.
Nino Niederreiter has a team-high 10 goals this season, but has scored once since November 21. Filip Forsberg and Ryan Johansen are the two other Preds skaters above six goals on the season.
With starter Juuse Saros playing last night in St. Louis, it should be Kevin Lankinen’s crease versus Edmonton. Lankinen is 3-3 this season with a .934 save percentage.
