The Pens took the momentum and scored two more to go up 3-1.

Despite the struggling PK, the Oilers’ powerplay has been deadly, clicking at 35 percent (2nd in NHL) and it got an opportunity early in the second that they would score on. After that Edmonton would rally with four more goals to complete the comeback, to beat the Penguins 6-3.

Leon Draisaitl leads the way with three points in the game (1G, 2A) pulling himself in a tie for second in the league with 11 points.

Edmonton will begin its first road trip of the season Wednesday, with three games in four days.

St. Louis Blues

After shutting out the Oilers on Saturday, the Blues got a taste of their own medicine on Monday night in Winnipeg taking a 4-0 loss, for their first of the season. Thomas Griess made his Blues debut and performed very well, stopping 39 of 42 shots for a .929 save percentage. St. Louis failed to muster 30 shots on goal in this game continuing the trend that began in game one. The Blues are averaging just 25 shots per game, the third lowest in the league.

With a banged-up forward core, the Blues were forced to ink forward Tyler Pitlick to fill some voids. Pitlick was on a tryout contract with the team, but the injuries allowed them the cap space to sign the 30-year-old winger.

Playing only four games on this season’s schedule (least in NHL) has given the Blues time to ease into the 82-game grind but their season will start to heat up now, with four games in the next five days.
