Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers Game 4 Recap (May 11, 2025)
Well, that didn’t go how Toronto bettors were hoping. The Maple Leafs entered Sunday night as slim -115 road favourites at Sports Interaction, but Florida showed up like the hungrier team and took control early.
Carter Verhaeghe opened the scoring on a first-period power play after Toronto took four penalties in the opening frame. Sam Bennett added the dagger in the third, capitalizing on a bad turnover in the neutral zone and beating Joseph Woll with a smooth finish.
Toronto never really found its rhythm. The Leafs managed just 12 shots through the first two periods and looked overwhelmed by Florida’s forecheck and defensive pressure. Joseph Woll was a bright spot, stopping 35 shots and keeping his team in it far longer than they deserved.
The final seconds were chaos. Max Domi drilled Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov from behind, touching off a line brawl and a pile of bad blood. TNT’s Eddie Olczyk called it “reckless and dangerous.” Early reports suggest Domi will be fined but avoid suspension.
If you took the under at 6.0, you were in the money. If you backed the Leafs, it was a frustrating night all around. Game 5 heads back to Toronto, and with the series tied, the pressure is officially on.
