Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers Prediction, NHL Odds
The Toronto Maple Leafs look to claim their first win since the Olympic break when they visit the Florida Panthers on Thursday night in NHL betting action at Amerant Bank Arena.
The Maple Leafs came up short in their return to action on Wednesday night, snapping a three-game win streak with a 4-2 defeat in Tampa Bay to remain stalled in seventh place in the Atlantic Division standings, just two points ahead of last-place Florida.
The Panthers hit the ice for their first post-Olympics contest with just one win in their past six contests, and have also posted losses in four of their past five home dates.
The Panthers lead the way as -160 favourites on Thursday’s NHL odds. The Maple Leafs lag as a +135 bet on the NHL moneyline, and the total is listed at 6.0.
Maple Leafs vs. Panthers NHL Betting Odds
The Leafs held the upper hand in their first two meetings of the season with the Panthers, tallying a pair of 4-1 victories including a win in Florida back on December 2. Overall, the Leafs have taken three of four from the Panthers in regular season action, but their win at Amerant Bank Arena earlier this season marked their first in five visits.
Recent dates between these division rivals have been low scoring, with the UNDER paying out in five straight clashes. Toronto is hoping they have turned the page on their dreadful performance on the road early in the campaign. The Buds have won six of 10 on the road since losing five straight to close out 2025, and have won four of their past seven while pegged as road dogs.
The Panthers have struggled to maintain consistency this season, and have been defensively challenged while losing five of their past six, surrendering 4.33 goals per game. The defending Stanley Cup champions have also been massive betting disappointments as home chalk, losing seven of their past nine while scoiring just 2.56 goals per game over that stretch.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Matthew Knies and John Tavares both entered the break struggling to find scoring consistency, but got the stretch run off to a good start in Wednesday’s loss to the Lightning by both scoring in the club’s 4-2 defeat.
Knies also added an assist in his second straight multi-point effort, while Tavares extended his current points streak to three games and has now scored in back-to-back games for the first time since early November.
Fresh of his gold medal win with Team USA, Auston Matthews extended his current points streak to four games with an assist while William Nylander contributed a pair of helpers in his fifth multi-point outing in eight games.
Florida Panthers
The Panthers face massive pressure to turn things around and claw their way back into playoff contention as they return to action. The last-place Panthers currently sit eight points off the pace in the Eastern Conference wild card race with just 10 home games remaining on their schedule.
Sam Reinhart leads the club in scoring as they hit the home stretch, and has tallied three points in his past two home appearances. Matthew Tkachuk is hoping to get a lift from his recent success at the Olympics. The super pest was hot and cold in his late start to the season, tallying eight points in 10 games including three multi-point performances.
