Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Winnipeg Jets Prediction, NHL Odds
The Jets return home after skating to a 6-2 victory in Minnesota on Thursday that extends their current win streak to four games, and pulls them to within seven points of the second wild card in the Western Conference. The Maple Leafs wrap up a four-game road trip in Winnipeg after letting victory slip through their fingers in a 6-5 overtime loss in Vegas on Thursday night, and have now surrendered 12 total goals in back-to-back defeats this week.
The surging Jets have emerged as -135 home favourites on Saturday’s NHL odds. The Maple Leafs trail as +110 underdogs on the NHL moneyline, and the total is pegged at 6.0.
Maple Leafs vs. Jets NHL Betting Odds
The Leafs have largely dominated in recent dates with the Jets, claiming victory in seven of eight meetings, capped by a narrow 6-5 home victory in their most recent clash on New Year’s Day. That run features a trio of wins in Winnipeg, all by multi-goal margins. However, recent meetings have been high-scoring affairs, with these clubs combining to score an average of over nine total goals in those contests. After enduring a brutal end to 2025 by losing 20 of 23, the Jets have turned things around during their current 4-0-0 run, scoring five goals per game over that stretch after potting just 2.40 goals per game in their previous five home dates.
Winnipeg’s prolific scoring has generated a boon for totals bettors backing the OVER, which has paid out in each of their past eight games. The OVER has also paid out in the Leafs’ past three outings but for all the wrong reasons. The Buds have surrendered six goals in each of their past two contests after allowing just five total goals during a preceding four-game win streak and continue to rank near the bottom of the league standings with a team goals against average of 3.28.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Two points out of a playoff spot in the East, the Leafs will have to do with out their leading scorer when they hit the ice on Saturday night. William Nylander was forced to leave Thursday’s loss in Vegas with a lower body injury, and Saturday will mark the seventh game the shifty Swede will have missed since December 28. Nylander’s absence puts the pressure on key veterans to step up. John Tavares showed signs of snapping out of his recent offensive funk with a goal and an assists versus the Golden Knights. Tavares has mustered just two goals over his past six games and would certainly benefit from shooting more after recording just six total shots on goal over that stretch. Auston Matthews must also regain the touch he enjoyed while racking up eight goals and 14 points during an eight-game run over the Holidays. The Leafs captain has cooled off since, potting just a single goal on three total shots over the past two games. And while Matthew Knies’ two assists in Vegas are welcome, the towering forward has scored just one goal in eight January contests and just three markers in 19 road appearances this season.
Winnipeg Jets
After struggling throughout their recent epic swoon, the Jets’ biggest stars have finally started to produce. Mark Scheifele led the attack in Thursday’s win over the Wild with a goal and three helpers and has now turned in four multi-point performances while ranking up 10 points over the past five games to seize the team lead in scoring. Fueled by a recent snub from Canada’s Olympic team, Scheifele has recorded three points on the power play over the past four games and is an attractive +220 bet on the NHL player props to pick up at least one power play point on Saturday. Kyle Connor has remained a consistent producer, tallying at least a point in seven of eight January outings and 10 total points over that stretch, while Josh Morrissey has contributed from the back end, scoring twice and adding three assists during a three-game points streak and nine points this month.
