Toronto Maple Leafs vs. St. Louis Blues Prediction, NHL Odds
The Toronto Maple Leafs have their work cut out for themselves tonight, visiting the red hot Blues in St. Louis. St. Louis is riding a three-game winnig streak, allowing just one goal per game over that stretch.
Toronto is looking to bounce back after being upset 2-1 in Arizona Wednesday night against a bottom-feeding Coyotes squad. The Maple Leafs are -164 favourites to win on the NHL odds board with a total of 6.
Maple Leafs vs. Blues NHL Betting Odds
The Leafs travel to St. Louis for the first time since beating the Blues 5-2 in December of 2019. That win snapped a 7-0 Blues run dating back to 2017. The Under is 7-2 in the past nine meetings, but 73 per cent of bettors like the Over tonight. The moneyline action has a 57-43 per cent split in favour of the Maple Leafs.
The Under is 5-1 over the past six Maple Leafs games, making their record 16-18 on the O/U this season. Toronto bettors are hesitant to take them to cover the spread this season since they have only 14 covers in 35 games.
St. Louis has played Under in three straight. The Blues are 20-17 ATS so far this season but have only covered once in their four most recent games.
Toronto Maple Leafs
The Maple Leafs left Arizona feeling bitter after managing only a single goal against one of the worst teams in the league. It does not happen without Coyotes goaltender Karel Vejmelka though, who made 45 saves to secure the 2-1 win.
Auston Matthews scored the lone Leafs goal in his return to his home state. His 24th goal of the season ties him with Alex Ovechkin for second in the league. The Arizona native was named to his fourth career All-Star game as captain of the Atlantic Division.
Toronto’s road trip got a little tougher Friday, as three more players were placed in COVID Protocol – Nick Ritchie, Justin Holl and Ondrej Kase joined their teammate Mitch Marner on the list.
The Buds will take a three-day break after this before resuming in New York Wednesday.
St. Louis Blues
The Blues have managed at least a point in their past 13 home games (12-0-1) after coming back to beat the Kraken 2-1 Thursday night.
Robert Thomas scored in the opening 90 seconds before Pavel Buchnevich got the game winner. Jordan Kyrou picked up an assist for his 12th point in his last six games. The 23-year-old has been selected for his first career All-Star game thanks to his 37 points through 33 contests.
Buchnevich was put into COVID Protocol Friday, as the lists continue to grow hourly around the league.
The Blues could take first place in the Central with a win and improve their impressive 15-3-2 home record.
