Utah Mammoth vs. Vegas Golden Knights Game 5 Prediction, NHL Playoff Odds
Although there has been more focus on other series’, Mammoth vs. Golden Knights may sneakily be the best of the first round. Or at least the best in the Western Conference to this point. Vegas reclaimed home-ice advantage with a huge win on Monday, setting up for an excellent rest of this series.
After the Golden Knights blew a three-goal lead in game four, they won the thriller in overtime to knot the series. Now, instead of being on the ropes, the Golden Knights have new life in this series. Game 5 is a pivotal one and should bring out the best effort in both teams.
Mammoth vs. Golden Knights NHL Betting Odds
The Golden Knights are getting a lot of love on the game lines. They are heavy favourites at -165 on the moneyline, while the Mammoth are +135. For those more bullish on Vegas, they are +150 to cover a -1.5 puckline. The over 6.0 is -105 on the NHL odds and the under is -115.
The margin of error has been thin. Both teams have two wins and have scored 13 goals. Despite how well the Mammoth have played and how close this series has been, the line does not give Utah much respect. The public still must not believe much in them. Could Vegas flex its experience and home-ice advantage? Of course they can. But getting Utah at +135 to win outright looks to be much better value than Vegas at -165.
Utah Mammoth
There was a wide expectation that Utah’s youth and inexperience could be their undoing. That was not an outrageous thought, considering the Mammoth are facing a team riddled with veterans, experience, and proven winners. But this Utah team has not rolled over in the least.
In the last six games played head-to-head in the regular season and now postseason, Utah has won four of them by a combined score of 22-14. This team has proven to be a tough matchup for the Golden Knights, and they have won six of the last eight games played on the road. They will not make things easy on Vegas.
Vegas Golden Knights
The line indicates the public is expecting and ready to see the Golden Knights flip a switch and be the dominant team to which fans have become accustomed. While that would not exactly be a surprise, Vegas has lost in the first round, then second round since their Stanley Cup win in 2023.
There is a possibility that this team is on a downturn from their reaching the mountain top a few years ago. But a team that has Jack Eichel, Mark Stone, Mitch Marner, Shea Theodore, and Noah Hanifin, among several other stars, will always be poised to win. They have faced a little bit of adversity in this series and gets home to the friendly confines. Look for a more comfortable Golden Knights team on Wednesday.
NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Mammoth vs. Golden Knights Game 5?
The Golden Knights have had to mount a comeback in each of their wins this series. If they are going to win this series, that trend will not be sustainable. Having not played great hockey consistently yet in this series and still being tied, Vegas has gotten away with it.
Each remaining game in this series should be a close one. Utah is playing fast and will play to keep giving Vegas fits. The Golden Knights have to clean things up and they have the proven pedigree to do so. This has the makings of a narrow Vegas 3-2 win.
