Two of the best teams in the NHL go head-to-head on Tuesday night as the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings are second in points in the league (13) while the Maple Leafs are fourth (12). Both teams are dangerous on the offensive end of the ice, which should make this an entertaining affair.

NHL Odds and Betting Analysis

The Kings have won six of their last 10 meetings with the Maple Leafs, including the last three games. Seven of the last 10 meetings have gone under the posted total along with a push. Seven of those games have had a posted total of 5.5.

Los Angeles Kings

This will be the second of a six-game road trip for the Kings, who have lost just one of their seven games this season. That was an overtime loss to Calgary. They rank third in goals scored, first in goals against and on the penalty kill, but they do come in 16th on the power play. Dustin Brown   is off to a great start with five goals and six assists while Anze Kopitar is equal on points with six goals and five assists. Jonathan Quick is 5-0-1 with a GAA of 1.99 and a save percentage of .938. After winning two Stanley Cups in three years, the Kings had dropped off, failing to make the playoffs in two of the last three seasons. The talent was still there, though, and it looks like they’ve woken up.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Maple Leafs are coming off a loss, which was a sour 6-3 defeat at the hands of the rival Ottawa Senators. They’re first in the NHL in goals scored and they’re third on the power play and seventh in penalty killing. Auston Matthews leads the attack with seven goals and five assists, while William Nylander has three goals and six assists, and the Maple Leafs can score with any team in the league. However, it is on the defensive end where they need some work as they’re 23rd in goals against. Frederik Andersen is 5-2-0, but he has a 3.41 GAA and a save percentage of .892. He needs to be better in between the pipes but the Maple Leafs get caught up in the offensive part of the game sometimes and that leaves their goalkeeper hanging out to dry. Andersen has made nine career starts against the Kings, going 5-1-2 while posting a 2.52 GAA and .922 save percentage.
