The Leafs snapped a two-game slide with Tuesday’s narrow 2-1 shootout victory over Florida, and have now tallied just seven total goals during a worrisome three-game offensive funk. The Kraken travel north of the border after opening their current four-game road trip with Tuesday’s 4-3 loss in Chicago, and have fallen to defeat in three of their past four contests.
The Maple Leafs lead the way as -185 home favourites on the Thursday NHL odds, and are pegged as a +125 bet on the puckline. The Kraken trail as +150 NHL moneyline underdogs, and -120 odds favour the total topping 6.5.

The Kraken rolled to a 5-1 victory in their most recent visit to Toronto on January 5, but have otherwise struggled when facing the Leafs, who outscored Seattle by a combined 17-7 total in the only other three all-time meetings between these clubs. However, goals have come at a premium of late for both these teams. In addition to potting just 2.33 goals per game during their current 1-1-1 run, the Maple Leafs have seen each of their past five contests settled by just a single goal. Meanwhile, the Kraken have scored just three times during their current two-game slide, and have been held to a single goal three times while losing six of their past nine. Overall, the Kraken offence ranks 26th in the NHL with 2.78 goals scored per game, but have still managed to pick up at least a point in eight of their past 10 road contests,

Matty Beniers awoke from his recent scoring slump in Tuesday’s loss to the Blackhawks, scoring once and adding an assist to pick up his first points in five games. However, Beniers has been a steady producer on the road, scoring three times and recording seven points over his past five away appearances. The 21-year-old also scored in his lone previous appearance in Toronto last season, and sports attractive +100 odds on the NHL player props to pick up at least one point on Thursday. On the downside, the Kraken could be without Jaden Schwartz for Thursday’s matchup. The veteran center had already been struggling through a scoring slump that produced just one assist in eight games before suffering a lower body injury that forced him out of Tuesday’s loss in Chicago.

Once again, it was the supporting cast that proved to be the difference as the Leafs eked out their slim victory over the hated Panthers on Tuesday night. This time it was Noah Gregor’s turn. In addition to scoring his first goal in five games, the fourth-line centre also potted the game winner in the shootout, and has now picked up three points in his past two appearances at Scotiabank Arena. While the secondary scoring from the likes of Gregor is welcome, the club’s biggest stars have been silent since the team returned home from their recent European junket. William Nylander, Mitch Marner, and Auston Matthews have all been held off the scoresheet in each of the past three games. However, Matthews has piled up five total goals in his past three appearances versus the Kraken.
