The Toronto Maple Leafs look to win two in a row for the first time in over two weeks when they return home to face the Seattle Kraken in Thursday NHL betting action at Scotiabank Arena. The Maple Leafs snapped a woeful three-game slide with Monday’s impressive 6-4 win over the previously undefeated Winnipeg Jets and have scored at least five goals in each of their past three victories. The Kraken arrive in Toronto after ending three-game slide of their own with the second biggest victory in franchise history, an 8-2 win in Montreal on Tuesday night and have now posted wins in three of four road games this season.

The Leafs lead the way as -210 home favourites on the Thursday NHL odds board. The Kraken trail as +175 underdogs and the total is pegged at 6.5.

Kraken vs. Maple Leafs NHL Betting Odds

Thursday’s matchup marks the fourth all-time meeting between these clubs at Scotiabank Arena. The Leafs have claimed victory in two of their past three home dates with Seattle, but it is the Kraken that has held the edge on offence, outscoring the Buds by a 12-11 margin over that stretch. At least six total goals have been scored in each of their previous three clashes in Toronto, and with both these teams coming off big offensive performances, that trend could be set to continue. Overall, Seattle has averaged five goals per game during their 3-1-0 start on the road while the Leafs have produced mixed results at home, averaging five goals per game in their three home wins to date but potting just a single goal in their two home defeats.

Seattle Kraken

Winners of just 19 games last season, the Kraken have enjoyed a respectable 5-4-1 start that leaves them in a three-way tie for third place in the Pacific Division standings. Veteran forward Jared McCann has played a critical role in the team’s early success. With two assists on Tuesday, McCann has now turned in multi-point performances in five of the first 10 games of the season and racked up four goals and eight assists during his current seven-game points streak. Chandler Stephenson and Brandon Montour are also coming off huge four-point nights in Montreal. Montour’s hat trick was the first of his NHL career and the veteran rearguard has also bulged the twine in four of his past five appearances versus the Leafs, while Stephenson’s four-assist outburst snapped a three-game pointless run and leaves him with six points in his past two road dates.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Leafs extended their recent dominance of the Jets with Monday’s victory but maintaining offensive momentum has emerged as somewhat of a challenge for this club. The Maple Leafs have fallen flat in games following big scoring performances, potting just three total goals in losses that have immediately followed their most recent victories in which they scored at least five goals, and have mustered two or fewer goals in four of their first 10 games of the season. Former captain John Tavares has emerged as the club’s most consistent performer. Tavares led the charge with a hat trick on Monday night and has recorded seven points during a five-game point streak. Max Pacioretty is also coming off his best effort since joining the Leafs, tallying three assists on Monday while seeing 15 minutes of ice time for the first time this season. William Nylander also potted a goal and added two helpers to snap a three-game points drought. It has been feast or famine for Nylander, who has either been held off the scoresheet or turned in multi-point performances while compiling six goals and four assists over the first 10 games.
