The Kings have been one of the early surprises this season as they lead the Pacific Division following a 5-2 against Columbus on Saturday. Calgary is fading lately, but they managed to salvage a point in a 3-2 overtime loss in Buffalo on Saturday.

Los Angeles is a -135 favourite to win on the NHL odds, with the total set at 6.0.

Kings vs. Flames NHL Betting Odds

These Pacific Division rivals split the season series last year. Three of the four games were decided by just two goals, with the Kings outscoring the Flames a combined 13-12. L.A. has struggled in Cowtown, however, as they’ve dropped five of their last six games played in Calgary.

Both teams have been average cover options, with the Flames going 8-7 against the spread this season and the Kings going 9-7 ATS. L.A. has been money on the road in particular, going 7-3 ATS away from Crypto.com Arena.

While the Kings are an even 7-7-2 on the Over/Under, Calgary has played the Under in 10 of 15 games, including six of their last seven. It’s also worth keeping in mind that the total has gone Under in nine of the Flames’ last 11 games against Pacific Division opponents.

Los Angeles Kings

Warren Foegele, Brandt Clarke, Vladislav Gavrikov, Alex Laferriere and Trevor Moore all found the back of the net on Saturday, while Adrian Kempe and Anze Kopitar each had a pair of helpers. The 37-year-old Kopitar once again leads the Kings with 17 points (5G, 12A). The second-year Laferriere is second with 15 (9G, 6A) and he’s well on his way to smashing his rookie total of 12 goals and 23 points.

David Rittich stopped 24 of 26 shots faced against Columbus, but it will likely be Darcy Kuemper on Monday. Kuemper is having a solid bounce-back season, posting a 4-1-3 record with a 2.72 goals-against average and .900 save percentage. One thing to watch out for is a slow start then a late push from L.A. The Kings have scored just 11 first period goals this season compared to 16 in the second and 27 in the third.

Calgary Flames

After trailing 2-0 in the first period on Saturday, Calgary tied things in the second but their attempt at a fifth successful comeback this season fell short in the shootout. Mikael Backlund and Matt Coronato scored for the Flames, while Dan Vladar stopped 17 of 19 shots through regulation and overtime. Vladar dropped to 1-4-1 in his last six starts. Leading scorer Rasmus Andersson (4G, 7A) was held off the scoresheet for the fourth straight game.

The Flames have cooled off a bit since a scorching hot start to the season. Calgary began the year 5-0-1, but they are just 2-5-2 over their last nine games. They’ve been rotating the goalies evenly, so it should be Dustin Wolf who gets the chance to turn things around for the Flames on Monday. Wolf is 4-2-1 with a 3.10 GAA and .906 SV. He’s struggled over his last four starts, going 1-2-1 while allowing at least four goals in each loss.
