Leading scorer Andre Burakovsky compiled 11 points during the team’s recent win streak, but has cooled off considerably, scoring once and adding one helper over the past six games.
Rookie forward Matty Beniers has also seen his production dip, tallying just two points in six games after potting five goals and seven assists during a preceding five-game points streak. The Kraken’s offensive woes have not spared the power play, which has gone 1-for-18 over the past six games after producing at least one goal in six of their previous eight outings. Reinforcements could be on the way on the blueline. Justin Schultz returned to practice on Saturday after missing the previous two games with an undisclosed injury. In addition to his defensive responsibilities, Schultz has played a big role on the power play, racking up a team-high seven assists with the extra man so fa this season.
