Winnipeg Jets vs. Seattle Kraken Prediction, NHL Odds

Thursday in the NHL brings us a busy 10-game schedule, including a Western Conference battle between the Winnipeg Jets and Seattle Kraken. Both teams have posted winning records thus far, and sit in the upper half of their respective division. Playoffs are expected by both organizations, so I don’t anticipate either club having an easy time in this game.

These teams met back on October 23, where the Kraken won 3-0 on the road. The Jets will aim to return the favour in this one. To get you set for some great NHL action, here is our expert Jets vs. Kraken prediction and preview.

Winnipeg is a -145 favourite to win on the NHL odds, with the total set at 5.5.

Jets vs. Kraken NHL Betting Odds

As Western Conference opponents, the Jets and Kraken typically play each other three times per year. Since Seattle joined the NHL in the 2021-22 season, Winnipeg is 10-3-0 against them.

On the puckline this season, Winnipeg is 8-8, while Seattle is 12-4. As for game totals, the Jets are 8-8, while the Kraken are 7-9 to the over.

Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets (10-6-0) have finally snapped a three-game losing skid. After going 0-3-0 and being outscored 9-2, they were able to right the ship in a 5-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks. This is their fifth-straight road game, but they should have more than enough energy to recoup the ground they lost in the standings.

The Jets are relatively healthy, missing just some depth pieces in Morgan Barron, Gustav Nyquist, and Dylan Samberg. However, it shouldn’t have much effect in this matchup, as the Jets are well-equipped depth-wise thanks to Mark Scheifele – who is tied for the seventh-most points in the NHL (21). Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck will also likely be in the crease, and he (as usual) has been arguably the best goaltender in the NHL this season.

Seattle Kraken

The Seattle Kraken (7-4-5) currently sit fourth in a tight Pacific Division, and while they are just four points away from first, they are just two points above seventh. Their ability to stay close within games has helped them, as five out of nine losses came in overtime. This will eventually need to change if they are serious about making the playoffs.

Jared McCann remains out with injury, which is a major loss to this team. He has been out since October 18th. The team has gone 4-4-3 without him, proving that he is a key piece to this lineup. The Kraken’s offense has been non-existent this season, as their 2.5 goals per game average ranks second-last in the NHL. An opponent like the Jets may not pose a great opportunity to change this trend.

NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Jets vs. Kraken?

I expect solid efforts from both, but my pick here is the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets are just a far stronger team with much more firepower than the Kraken. This is a group that has high expectations, and hopes to string together a few wins after a rough three-game losing streak. I expect them to win by a score of 4-1.
