It looks like the Winnipeg Jets have locked down second place in the Central Division. Now, they're just using the last few games of the regular season as a tune-up for the playoffs.

The NHL regular season is quickly coming to an end for the Chicago Blackhawks, while the Winnipeg Jets are prepping for the start of the postseason. The key to this game for the Jets is staying healthy, and getting a win.

Jets vs. Blackhawks Betting Analysis

These two teams met earlier this month with the Jets hammering the Blackhawks 6-2 on home ice. However, overall this season the Blackhawks have won three out of the four games played, and the two teams still have one more game to play after this one in early April. The road team in the series is 5-2 in the last seven games played, and the under has been significant in Chicago, it is 5-1 in the last six games at United Center.

The Jets opened as a -175 road favourite for this NHL matchup.

Winnipeg Jets

With their 5-4 shootout win over the Boston Bruins Tuesday night, the Winnipeg Jets completed their greatest home stand ever (including Jets 1.0) six games – six wins. Unfortunately for the team, they sit comfortably in second place in the Central division, and likely will remain there the rest of the season.

Captain Blake Wheeler continues to hold a hot hand, currently in the middle of a seven-game point streak entering this game. Brandon Tanev is coming off his best game as a Jet – a three-goal performance Tuesday evening in which he was named the game’s first star. Head Coach Paul Maurice has confirmed that back-up Eric Comrie will make his third start of the season Thursday night. Comrie’s last game was Sunday, where he picked up a 2-1 overtime decision against the Los Angeles Kings.

Chicago Blackhawks

Times are changing in the windy city. Entering this game with the Winnipeg Jets, the Blackhawks are in some unfamiliar territory – last place in the Central division. Now, with five games remaining in this 2017-18 season, you’re going to need a program to figure out this lineup. Here’s what we know. Captain Jonathan Toews is nursing an upper-body injury and is likely to miss his fourth in a row. Anthony Duclair has missed the last eight games and won’t play tonight. The team has signed Hobey Baker finalist Dylan Sikura and college standout Blake Hillman; both are expected to make their NHL debuts Thursday.

Young players like these, plus many others in this same category will fill out the roster the remainder of the season. Blackhawks management want to get a first-hand look at what next season could look like. The Blackhawks have placed goaltender Jean-Francois Berube on waivers and have recalled Eric Delia from Rockford of the AHL. No word on who the Hawks plan to start in goal.
