Golden Knights vs. Sharks Game 2 Prediction: NHL Playoffs Betting Odds
Vegas ended up on the wrong end of a 5-2 decision in the opener, but comes in having gone 4-1 in its last five when allowing five or more goals last time out. But the Sharks clearly have momentum on their side, having won three of their past four vs. Vegas.
Golden Knights vs. Sharks Stanley Cup Playoffs Betting Analysis
Being a modest underdog has produced bad results for the Golden Knights of late; installed at +110 for Friday’s rematch, Vegas is an incredible 1-10 SU in its last 11 games as an underdog of between +110 and -150. The Golden Knights have also lost eight of nine overall, including five straight away from T-Mobile Arena. The Sharks, meanwhile, have won 23 of their previous 32 games following a victory. Nearly 60 percent of Sports Interaction bettors favour the hosts.
The over/under consensus is even more decisive, with roughly 80 percent of participants leaning toward the under on the 6.5 total. But the Golden Knights come in having gone above the number in four consecutive road games while boasting a 5-1 O/U mark in their last six as an underdog. San Jose is a perfect 5-0 to the over in its previous five first-round playoff games, while the teams have combined for four overs in their last five meetings.
Vegas Golden Knights
It was a rough night all-around for the Golden Knights, who finished with a -9 turnover differential while getting outshot 33-26. Vegas has now been outshot in four of its previous five games – and not surprisingly, it has lost all four. On the positive side: Forward Mark Stone provided both of the Golden Knights’ goals in Game 1 after converting just five times in 18 games after being acquired from the Ottawa Senators at the trade deadline.
San Jose Sharks
The NHL’s most dangerous defensive tandem – at least from an offensive standpoint – was at it again, as Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns combined for a goal and three assists in Wednesday’s triumph. It was a much-needed breakout for the pair, which combined for just two total points against the Golden Knights during the regular season. It was the first multi-point game since Jan. 26 for Karlsson, who was limited to 53 games due to injury.
