The Maple Leafs are coming off a narrow 4-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday to improve to 5-1-0 over their past six games and move to within one point of the division-leading Florida Panthers. The Golden Knights open a five-game road trip after riding a two-game win streak away from T-Mobile Arena and have also claimed victory in three of their past four dates with the Leafs including wins in their past two visits to Toronto.

The Maple Leafs’ recent home success has helped lift them to slim -125 favourites on Wednesday’s NHL odds. The Golden Knights closely trail as +105 underdogs and the total for Wednesday’s contest is pegged at 6.0.

Golden Knights vs. Maple Leafs NHL Betting Odds

Losers in six of their first eight all-time dates with Toronto, the Golden Knights have turned the tables on the Leafs in recent meetings. Vegas rolled to an easy 6-2 victory in their last visit to Scotiabank Arena and have now claimed victory by multi-goal margins in four of their five all-time head-to-head wins. While the Golden Knights have averaged four goals per game during their 3-1-0 run versus Toronto, they have struggled offensively in recent outings, averaging just 2.80 goals per game while losing three of their past five contests. However, Vegas has made up for that shortfall with steady defence and has allowed just two goals in each of the three games on their current road winning streak. After closing out October amid a dismal 3-4-2 run, the Leafs have settled down considerably, allowing just 1.83 goals per game during their current 5-1-0 run and just nine total goals while winning five of six at home. That has generated payouts for NHL betting fans taking the UNDER, which has paid out in five of six home dates and six of nine games overall.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights will be without Mark Stone for Wednesday’s contest. Stone has missed five games since suffering a lower body injury that landed him on the injury reserve this week. The loss of Stone is a blow to a Golden Knights squad that has produced sporadic offence. The Golden Knights went 6-1-0 during a seven-game points streak during which Stone racked up 12 points and have lost three of five without their team captain in the lineup. Tomas Hertl has helped fill the void in Stone’s absence, picking up four points over the past three games while the team’s leading scorer Jack Eichel has gotten in on 12 of the team’s 18 goals over the past six games and turned in multi-point performances in three straight road appearances.

Toronto Maple Leafs

While the Leafs have produced steady results this month, they must now contend with a growing rash of injuries that has forced head coach Craig Berube to juggle his lines. Auston Matthews remains sidelined by an upper body injury that has put him on the shelf indefinitely and is now joined in the clinic by David Kampf and Max Pacioretty, both of whom are out indefinitely. Adding to the personnel woes is the loss of tough guy Ryan Reaves, who is serving a five-game suspension for laying out Darnell Nuse in Saturday’s win. However, the Leafs maintain plenty of weapons in their arsenal, led by Mitch Marner, who has tallied two points in five of his past six outings and has cracked the scoresheet in 10 of 11 games. William Nylander has also tallied two or more points in five of 11 outings while Bobby McMann looks to extend a pleasantly surprising outburst that has produced three goals in two games.
