Vegas Golden Knights vs. Anaheim Ducks Game 4 Prediction, NHL Odds

Sunday’s Game 4 between the Vegas Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks is as pivotal as they come without an elimination on the line. Either Vegas will take a commanding 3-1 series lead back home, or the Ducks will tie the series up and make this a best-of-three. Vegas definitely flexed their muscles on Friday night with a 6-2 win on the road, highlighted by a four-point night from Mitch Marner. It was Anaheim’s first home loss of the playoffs and a wake up call for this young Ducks squad.

And there’s some big questions headed into Game 4. First, will Mark Stone play for Vegas? Head coach John Tortorella did not provide an update on Stone after he suffered a lower-body injury Friday and missed the third period. And is Lukas Dostal still Anaheim’s guy between the pipes after getting pulled for the second time in the playoffs?

Game 4 at the Honda Center gets started at 9:30 p.m. EDT with the Golden Knights entering as a -118 moneyline favourite on the road, and the total at 6.5 on the NHL odds.

Golden Knights vs. Ducks NHL Betting Odds

After a pair of 3-1 games to open this series, the flood gates opened in Anaheim and we saw the first over hit this series. The Ducks still have to find more consistent scoring though as they’ve now totalled six goals through three games this series. Home ice is typically where the Ducks play a little more run-and-gun, as eight of their last 11 at home have finished over the total. Vegas is now 4-1 in their last five road outings.

The Golden Knights have shifted to -375 favourites to advance and currently have the third-best Cup odds at +525. Anaheim is +300 to win the series, and have the longest Cup odds at +4500.

Vegas Golden Knights

It’s time to admit that Mitch Marner can deliver in the post-season. Marner notched his first career playoff hat-trick on Friday and is red hot with a team-high six goals and 13 points in the playoffs. Marner’s career high in points in one post-season was 14 points set back in 2022–23. Brett Howden’s continuing quite a goal-scoring run in the playoffs, registering six goals so far and scoring in five of his last six outings. The Golden Knights also received some depth contributions in Game 3, as both Shea Theodore and Brayden McNabb netted goals in the opening period of Friday’s win.

The other big story for Vegas is the assurgence of Carter Hart, who is now 6-3 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a .915 save percentage. Hart has been at least a .926 mark in four straight games.

Anaheim Ducks

Lukas Dostal’s Game 2 showing might be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Through nine playoff games, Dostal has an .876 save percentage and got pulled again in Friday’s Game 3. Ville Husso has turned away 27 of 30 shots faced in two relief appearances, and head coach Joel Quenneville has yet to declare his starting goalie for Game 4.

But regardless of who’s in net, the Ducks need more production up front. Cutter Gautheir is without a goal this series after leading the team with four last round, and 41 during the season. Jackson LaCombe has a single point this series after a team-high nine last round. What ties these two struggles together is Anaheim’s power-play going cold. The Ducks have had 11 opportunities on the man-advantage this series and do not have a goal to show for.
