The Vegas Golden Knights look to return to the Western Conference playoff picture with a fifth straight win when they visit the faltering Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night. The Golden Knights earned the sweep in a rare two-game series in Seattle, capped by Friday’s 5-2 victory. Conversely, the Canucks were swept in last week’s home-and-home series with St. Louis, capped by Wednesday’s 4-3 defeat that marks their sixth loss in seven home contests.

This betting matchup has held steady since opening as a pick’em. However, the Canucks have managed to attract a slim 56% majority of the betting action. The total is also unchanged since opening at 6.0, with the UNDER emerging as -115 chalk despite garnering the backing of just 27% of sports bettors.

Golden Knights vs. Canucks NHL Betting Odds

Sunday night’s matchup at Rogers Arena marks the first of three scheduled clashes between these clubs over the next 10 days. Vegas has largely dominated the Canucks since entering the NHL in 2017, claiming victory in nine of 11 regular season tilts, including wins in four of five trips to Vancouver. An average of 9.25 total goals have been scored over their past four dates. Accordingly, the OVER is on a 5-1-0 run, and has paid out in eight of 11 all-time meetings.

The Golden Knights have outscored opponents by a wide 19-7 margin during their 4-0-0 run, and snapped a seven-game road losing streak with their back-to-back wins in Seattle. However, Vegas has failed to win three in a row on the road in 17 games since late January. Now trailing Dallas by five points in the race for the second wild card, the Canucks have scored just seven total goals during a four-game home losing streak, and averaged just 2.45 goals per game during a 3-5-3 overall run. As a result, the UNDER has prevailed in seven of their past 10 contests.

Vegas Golden Knights

Jack Eichel turned in his first two-goal performance in over two years in Friday’s win over the Kraken. Eichel has also returned to regular duty in the faceoff circle after being hampered by a hand injury for over a week. However, injuries remain a concern, with Max Pacioretty, Mark Stone, and Robin Lehner all missing time. With Lehner still on the mend after missing three weeks with a lower body injury, Logan Thompson is poised to make a ninth straight start in net. Thompson has allowed just seven goals and compiled a sparkling .942 save percentage during the club’s current 4-0-0 run.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks are hoping Bo Horvat will be well enough to return to the lineup after being sidelined by a suspected flu bug last week. Horvat saw less than five minutes of action in Wednesday’s loss to the Blues, and has been held off the scoresheet in his past two outings after scoring in each of his previous four appearances.

The club will be looking for a rebound from JT Miller, who recorded just one total assist and a -4 rating in last week’s losses to the Blues. Miller has regularly sparked the Canucks offence, with the club earning at least a point in 17 of the past 18 games in which he has scored.
