Golden Knights vs. Canucks NHL Betting Odds
Tuesday night’s matchup at Rogers Arena marks the third and final meeting of the season between these Pacific Division rivals. These clubs split their first two clashes of the season, with each team posting a win on the road, capped by the Canucks’ 5-1 win in Vegas back on November 26. Overall, the Canucks have taken three of four from the Golden Knights, averaging 4.75 goals per game over that stretch, and fuelling a 3-1 run for the OVER.
Vegas Golden Knights
Currently deadlocked with Los Angeles atop the Western Conference standings with 92 points, the Golden Knights hold the edge over the Kings with one game in hand, and with one-game advantage in regulation wins. The Golden Knights have maintained the lead thanks to steady offensive production during their current surge. With Saturday’s rout of the Blue Jackets, Vegas has now averaged 4.5 goals per game over its past six outings.
Jack Eichel ended a seven-game goalless stretch with his second hat trick of the season in the win over Columbus, while defenceman Alex Pietrangelo maintained his recent torrid pace with four assists, and has now compiled 10 points in his past six outings.
Jiri Patera turned in another steady performance in second career NHL start, turning aside 35 of 37 shots faced. However, veteran Jonathan Quick is expected to return to the crease on Tuesday. Quick enjoyed a solid Vegas debut, earning the win in his first four starts with the Golden Knights, but was rocked for six goals on 29 shots last time out in last Thursday’s 7-2 loss to Calgary.
Vancouver Canucks
The Canucks have showed steady improvement since Rick Tocchet was hired as head coach back on January 22, going 13-8-2 in 23 games with Tocchet behind the bench. The club has fuelled their current surge with steady defence, allowing just two goals per game over their current 7-1-0 run, and giving up more than three goals just twice while winning eight of their past 12.
Elias Pettersson has continued to rack up the points during the team’s resurgence. Pettersson scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Sunday’s win over the Ducks, and has now recorded five goals and seven assists during an eight-game points streak. Rearguard Quinn Hughes is coming off back-to-back multi-point games, but has failed to score in 20 games since January 27.
Thatcher Demko is expected to get the call in goal on Tuesday. Demko has compiled a 6-2-0 record since returning from injury, and stopped 38 of 40 shots while leading Vancouver to a 3-2 shootout win in Los Angeles in his last outing on Saturday night.
