The Flames and Lightning face off for the first of two games this season, meeting each other for the first time since 2020. Looking back on their previous five head-to-heads, they have all played the Over, with the Lightning claiming victory in four of them. So far the Bolts have received 80 percent of the betting action.

Calgary Flames
Calgary fell victim to the NHL’s hottest team on Tuesday night in a 6-2 loss to the Florida Panthers, snapping their two-game win streak out of the holiday break.
Johnny Gaudreau potted his 14th of the year extending his point streak to four games in which he has accumulated eight points. He leads the squad with 37 points through 31 contests.
Calgary will play their first game of a back-to-back tonight in Tampa before heading to Carolina to face the Hurricanes tomorrow. With the best point percentage in the Central division, the Flames could take first place if they win their games in hand.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa Bay snapped a three-game losing streak in Columbus Tuesday with a huge 7-2 win over the Blue Jackets. Brayden Point and Ondrej Palat did the heavy lifting offensively, combining for six points. They limited the Jackets to only 22 shots, giving goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy a relatively easy night.
Vasi is 8-1-0 since the beginning of December, posting a .922 save percentage while allowing only 2.32 goals against average.
The win helped them defend first place in the league, but their rivals in Florida are nipping at their heels, only a point behind.
