They just took down the San Jose Sharks twice, who are one of the worst teams in the NHL, so it’s hard to say if they’ve changed their momentum.

Meanwhile, the Kings have won three straight games, two of them coming via shootouts. Which of these teams can extend their small hot streaks further on?

Flames vs. Kings NHL Betting Odds

The Flames are 6-2 in their last eight games played against teams from the Western Conference but are just 3-8 in their last 11 games against teams with a winning record on the season. When it comes to the total, the over has cashed in their last four games overall and their last five against teams from the Western Conference.

On the other hand, the Kings are 4-1 in their last five against teams from the Western Conference and 5-2 in their last seven against teams with a losing record on the year. As for the total, the under has hit in their past four games. It’s also hit in four out of their last five against teams with a losing record.

Calgary Flames

The Flames have been struggling overall but their offense has been working of late. They’ve picked up at least three goals in seven out of their last 10 games played with multiple players leading the team at 13 goals each (Nazem Kadri and Tyler Toffoli). This offense still ranks 18th in the league in goals scored per game, though, but this recent improvement could be a sign of optimism for Calgary moving forward. They were one of the bet offensive teams in the NHL last season.

Goaltending has been very inconsistent for this squad as they rank 15th in the league in goals allowed per game. Jacob Markstrom is expected to be the starter here against the Kings. Markstrom allowed a total of just five goals in their two wins over the Sharks but allowed nine in his two starts before that.

Los Angeles Kings

It’s been a tale of two goaltenders for the Kings at this point in the season. Whether it’s Jonathan Quick or Phoenix Copley in the net, the Kings have gotten vastly different results. Quick has been below average in the net, to say the least, with an 8-8-3 overall record, a 3.55 GAA and a .882 save percentage.

Copley, on the other hand, didn’t get a single start for this team until we hit the month of December. Since he’s been given the green light, he’s been phenomenal. He’s 5-1-0 with a 2.43 GAA and a .912 save percentage. Los Angeles has played significantly better and more consistently with Copley throughout this month than they have with Quick on the season. Double-check who is between the pipes because that will likely swing your decision.
