Calgary Flames vs. New York Islanders Prediction, NHL Odds
The Islanders ended their thirteen game season opening road trip with four consecutive losses drop their record to 5-6-2. Calgary is playing the sixth game of a seven-game Eastern Conference road trip following a 5-0 win in Buffalo on Thursday.
New York is a -114 favourite to win on the NHL odds with a total of 5.5.
Flames vs. Islanders NHL Betting Odds
The Flames have taken four of the past five meeting versus the Islanders, including the past two in New York. Seven of their past 10 head-to-heads have played the Under but they have not met each other since 2019. Sports interaction bettors are giving a slight edge to Calgary as they have received 57 per cent of the bets.
Calgary’s past four games have all played the under, putting them 10-7 to the under on the season. Flames bettors have been making bank on the spread this season, as Calgary has covered in 10 out of 17 games, including three of the past four.
The Islander’s could not even cover the spread once during their current four game skid, making them 5-8 against the spread overall. Their contest Tuesday night played the over, for only the fifth time in 13 games.

The Flames ran over the Buffalo Sabres 5-0 Thursday night to keep hold of second place in the Pacific Division. Jacob Markstrom stopped 27 shots en route to his fifth shutout of the year. The 31-year-old is having a career year, rocking a 1.68 goals-against average and a .942 save percentage. He has climbed to fourth on our NHL props Vezina Trophy winner board at +900. Andrew Mangiapane scored a pair of goals to boost his total to 12 on the year. He leads the team in goals, picking up four markers in his past five games.
New York Islanders
After a gruelling road trip, the Islanders are likely more than a little excited to finally play their first game in their new arena. For many players, Thursday’s practice was their first peek at their new home. New York comes into this one on a four game skid that saw them outscored a combined 19-4. The travel seems to have taken its toll on the team as their offence could not muster up more than two goals for the past five games.
Islanders captain Anders Lee is the newest member of the teams COVID-19 list, joining Josh Bailey and Ross Johnston. All three will be unavailable tonight. The Isles are also missing top defenceman Ryan Pulock as well. Pulock will miss four to six weeks with a lower-body injury.
