The Blackhawks snapped a seven-game home slide with Thursday’s 5-4 victory over San Jose, but returned to their familiar losing ways with Saturday’s 4-3 defeat in Nashville. The Flames arrive in the Windy City riding a five-game win streak on the road, and have won six of seven overall, capped by Saturday’s 9-1 rout of the Arizona Coyotes.

The Flames have steadily gained ground since opening as -281 favourites to win on the NHL odds, vaulting to lofty-308 chalk. Backed by just 6 per cent of sports bettors, the Blackhawks have faded to +254 underdogs. The total has held steady since opening at 6.5, but the OVER has emerged as a strengthening -120 bet.

Flames vs. Blackhawks NHL Betting Odds

Monday night’s matchup at United Center marks the third and final regular season meeting between these clubs. Calgary dominated in each of their two previous clashes of the current campaign. That includes a 5-1 win in Chicago on Jan. 2 that extends their current win streak at United Center to five games. Overall, the Flames have taken nine of 11 from the Blackhawks, and have limited Chicago shooters to two or fewer goals in three of their past four clashes. However, with Calgary averaging over four goals per game, the OVER has gone 5-1-0 in totals betting over their past six matchups.

It has quickly turned into a dismal stretch run for the Blackhawks, who have claimed victory in just one of their past 10 contests. Things have gone particularly sour at home, where the club has picked up wins in just four of their past 20 contests, and just one victory over a team currently in playoff contention since mid-December. In addition to ranking 30th in the NHL with just 12 home wins on the season, the Blackhawks have also surrendered a league-worst 3.68 goals per game on home ice. Conversely, the Flames have remained steady at both ends of the ice during their 5-0-0 run on the road, outscoring opponents by a wide 20-9 margin.

Calgary Flames

The Flames enjoyed a free-for-all in Saturday’s demolition of the Coyotes, with 10 different players recording at least a point and six players finding the back of the net. The top line of Johnny Gaudreau, Elias Lindholm, and Matthew Tkachuk picked up a combined five goals and 12 points after recording just three total goals and three assists over the previous three games. Dillon Dube has also rediscovered his scoring touch, scoring three times over the past two games after potting just four total markers over his previous 23 outings.

Chicago Blackhawks

After scoring just 10 total goals over their previous six outings, the Blackhawks have tallied four goals in each of their past two contests. Patrick Kane has provide the spark, finding the back of the net in each of the past three contests and racking up eight points during a four-game point streak. Things have not gone so well for Monday’s expected goaltender Kevin Lankinen, who has compiled a dismal .857 save percentage while allowing 13 total goals over his past three outings.
