Anaheim Ducks vs. Calgary Flames Prediction, NHL Odds
The Anaheim Ducks will be well-rested, playing just their second game of the month when they face the Flames in Calgary on Wednesday.
Only five points separate the first-place Flames from the fifth-placed Ducks in the Pacific Division standings. The Flames are -191 favourites to win on the NHL odds, with a total of 5.5.
Ducks vs. Flames NHL Betting Odds
Tonight will be the third instalment of the four-game season series between Calgary and Anaheim. Both of their previous matchups have needed extra time and each team has managed to sneak out a win. As of now, 85 per cent of bettors are taking the Flames, while a whopping 93 per cent are playing the Over.
The Ducks have covered the spread a league-leading 32 times in 49 contests, but have fallen off lately, going 3-7 ATS in the last 10. Anaheim has split their past 10 on the Over/Under, bringing them to 23-25 on the year.
The Flames’ offence is red hot, averaging 5.5 goals per game over the past four contests, while playing the Over in three of them. Calgary has covered the spread in each of their past five games and is up to a 24-22 record ATS.
Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks have not played since their first game of the month on Feb. 11 versus Seattle. They lost to the Kraken 4-3 on a late third-period goal by Jordan Eberle. Isac Lundestrom scored his 10th and 11th goals of the season for the Ducks, while John Gibson allowed four goals on 27 shots in net.
The last game showed a new side of rookie phenom Trevor Zegras. Instead of embarrassing defenders with his hands, he used his six-foot frame as a weapon, finishing the night with a career high six hits.
Anaheim will continue their western Canadian road trip tomorrow night in Edmonton.
Calgary Flames
Last night the Calgary Flames moved into first place in the Pacific division with their 6-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Newbie Tyler Toffoli scored and centre Elias Lindholm put up a goal and two assists, taking home the game’s first star.
Backup goalie Daniel Vladar got the start last night, so expect Jacob Markstrom to return to the crease tonight. Markstrom has won his past four starts, posting a combined 1.5 goals-against average and .948 save percentage.
Calgary’s homestand continues Saturday night as they host the Seattle Kraken.
