Arizona was outshot 43-15 last night in Ottawa, but still managed a 5-3 win, powered by Lawson Crouse’s first career hat trick. They are wrapping up a five-game Eastern Conference road trip tonight.

A Habs win tonight would make a three-way tie between Montreal, Arizona and Seattle for last place in the league with 42 points. Montreal is a -167 favourite to win on the NHL odds, with a total of 6.0.

Coyotes vs. Canadiens NHL Betting Odds

The Coyotes opened the season series with a 5-2 win on home ice, snapping a four-game Under streak between these teams in head-to-head. Arizona’s Nick Schmaltz picked up three points (1G, 2A), forcing the Habs to pull rookie goalie Cayden Primeau after two periods.

Arizona added to their six-game streak of covering against the spread last night, pulling off the upset win. Their nine covers in the past 10 games has boosted their record against the spread to 31-28.

The Canadiens upset the Flyers Saturday, covering for the first time in two games. They are still looking to even their 28-31 record ATS.

Both squads have been playing the Over regularly, going 4-1 in each of their past five games.

Arizona Coyotes

Crouse completed his first career hat trick and Scott Wedgewood stopped 40 of 43 shots to lead the Coyotes to a 5-3 win on Monday, their fifth in six games.

Schmaltz continued his tear through the month of March with two more points (1G, 1A). His point streak now sits at six-games, a stretch where he has scored six goals and added 10 assists.

Now just 24-hours later, Arizona is in Montreal playing their 12th back-to-back so far this season. They have a 3-8 record in second half of those games.

Montreal Canadiens

Cole Caufield blasted his third career overtime winner to put his Canadiens back in the win column in Saturdays 4-3 win over Philadelphia. Caufield’s righthand man, Nick Suzuki, did the heavy lifting through regulation, scoring two goals to keep the game tight. The win snapped a two-game slide and improved Montreal’s record to 7-2-1 in their last 10 games.

Two more Canadiens went down Saturday. Artturi Lehkonen was a late scratch before puck drop and Ryan Poehling left early with an upper-body. Neither forward has a timetable for a return.

The Habs are next in action Thursday, hosting the Dallas Stars.
