Canucks vs. Stars Prediction: NHL Betting Odds
The tenuous hold on their playoff position would be hugely helped with a win over the visiting Vancouver Canucks.
Canucks vs Stars Betting Analysis
The struggling Vancouver side has a 13-19-5 away record this season and are suffering from some major injuries to their roster. Chris Tanev, Ryan Spooner, Antoine Roussel and Ben Hutton are all hurt, with Roussel out for the rest of the season with a lower body injury.
The last time these teams played each other, the Stars won 2-1. Vancouver is no longer even a long shot for a wild card spot in the fast- approaching playoffs. They dropped nine of their last twelve games, including a 3-2 shootout loss to the Devils on Friday night.
After tonight’s game the Stars will host the Panthers, the Avs and the Penguins before heading North for a four-game road trip.
Vancouver Canucks
Since the beginning of this year, the Canucks have scored the fewest goals in the entire league, and that drought has cost them the playoffs. Hotshot rookie Elias Pettersson had been kept off the score sheet for 11 games, a problem he finally solved with a goal on Friday against the Devils.
A highlight for the Canucks this season has definitely been Jacob Markstrom, who has really started to shine as the team’s chosen starter. He has a .925 save percentage in the last six weeks.
Dallas Stars
The Stars gave it everything they had against the Knights on Friday, but their barrage of shots on net (41) didn’t matter in the end as the Vegas team beat them 2-1. Roope Hintz scored the lone goal for his team and Anton Khudobin played well but let in one more than Marc-Andre Fleury. Rookie Hintz has scored four goals in the last three.
Alexander Radulov has 10 point in 10 games, and is in second place on the team with 56 points. Tyler Seguin is the team points leader with 65 but hasn’t put one in the net in seven games.
