Vancouver Canucks vs. Philadelphia Flyers Prediction, NHL Odds

There is no shortage of storylines in this game. The Canucks, who just a week ago were one of the worst teams in the NHL, have ripped off four consecutive wins after trading their captain and best player. Also, Vancouver will face Rick Tocchet, their head coach for the last three seasons, who left for the Philadelphia head coaching job.

Canucks vs. Flyers NHL Betting Odds

The Canucks look like a new hockey team after trading Quinn Hughes, one of the best defencemen in the NHL. Since the trade, Vancouver has won four straight games. They allowed one goal or fewer in three out of those four games. In the game that they allowed four goals, they scored five against a good Bruins team. This team is playing great hockey on both sides of the puck.

The Flyers have two wins in their last seven games but has points in six out of those seven games, having taken Carolina beyond regulation twice, as well as Vegas and Rangers.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks collected a ransom in the Hughes trade, rightfully so, and all three skaters Vancouver acquired have been contributing during this four-game win streak. Zeev Buium, Marco Rossi, and Liam Ohgren have combined for three goals and three assists in four games as Canucks. Buium and Rossi have been thrust into important roles, while Ohgren looks as comfortable as at any point in his young career. Vancouver has outscored four good teams 14-6 during their win streak.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Eastern Conference playoff picture changes daily, but a strong stretch of hockey played by Philadelphia has them right in the mix.

If the Flyers want to sustain their position as playoff contenders in a loaded conference, they need to clean up their defence. Philadelphia ranks a very respectable ninth in the NHL in goals allowed per game. But they have allowed 10 goals in their last two games, as part of allowing at least three goals in five out of their previous six.

NHL Prediction: Who Will Win Canucks vs. Flyers?

The Canucks have turned into a difficult fade. The Flyers are at home, but all four wins during the Canucks’ streak have been on the road. Vancouver enters this game having won both low-scoring games and high-scoring games on the road, and all against good teams.

The Sabres and Rangers are not exactly offensive juggernauts. But the Flyers allowed five goals to both teams entering this one. Philadelphia appears to be figuring things out a little bit and mildly getting away with it. Meanwhile, Vancouver is playing like they have nothing to lose. The Canucks will look to wrap this phenomenal road trip with one more win by a score of 4-3.
