The Blackhawks fell short to the best in west Friday night, losing 6-4 at home to the Colorado Avalanche. Brandon Hagel and Patrick Kane each had a pair of goals up front and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 21 of 25 shots faced. Kane snapped a five-game goal drought picking up his 10th and 11th goals of the year.

The Blackhawks have now dropped five of their past six and have slipped down to seventh place in the Central division.

Hawks will host the Minnesota Wild Tuesday before having a week long All-Star break.
