Vancouver is looking to bounce-back after an overtime shutout loss Saturday night. They have managed at least a point in their past three games.

Chicago was out gunned 6-4 at home versus the Avalanche Saturday night. They have now lost five of their past six games. The Blackhawks are a slight -114 favourites to win on the NHL odds with a total of 5.5.

Tonight’s game will serve as a tie breaker as the season series between the Canucks and Blackhawks is tied at one game a piece. The most recent meeting went 1-0 to the visiting Blackhawks, with Marc-Andre Fleury picking up his fourth shutout of the season and Brandon Hagel scoring the lone goal of the game.

The Canucks have been making bank on the spread recently covering in six of the last seven games. They are now up to 25 covers on the year, with a 16-26 record on the Over/Under.

Chicago’s been in high scoring contests as of late, playing the Over in three of their past four, pushing their O/U record to 20-19. They are even ATS at 22-22.

The Canucks only took 15 shots on net in Saturday nights 1-0 overtime loss to the Calgary Flames. Goalie Thatcher Demko played phenomenal, stopping 31 shots in his first game since January 18th after a stint in Covid-19 protocol. Captain Bo Horvat also returned from protocol versus the Flames, he played 20:32 with two shots on goal and a penalty.

J.T. Miller has been the Canucks hottest stick, picking up eight points in the past five games.

Vancouver will play in Nashville tomorrow night before taking a week break for the All-Star game.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks fell short to the best in west Friday night, losing 6-4 at home to the Colorado Avalanche. Brandon Hagel and Patrick Kane each had a pair of goals up front and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 21 of 25 shots faced. Kane snapped a five-game goal drought picking up his 10th and 11th goals of the year.

The Blackhawks have now dropped five of their past six and have slipped down to seventh place in the Central division.

Hawks will host the Minnesota Wild Tuesday before having a week long All-Star break.
