Montreal Canadiens vs. Seattle Kraken Prediction, NHL Odds
The Montreal Canadiens look to wrap up a four-game Western road trip on a winning note when they take on the Seattle Kraken in Tuesday NHL betting action.
The Canadiens earned wins in two of the first three games of their current junket, capped by Saturday’s 4-3 win in Vancouver, and remain perched atop the Atlantic Division standings with a 7-3-0 record. The Kraken look to make it three in a row after top ping Edmonton by a 3-2 score on Saturday that leaves them undefeated at home so far this season.
The Canadiens lead the way as slim -125 favourites on Tuesday’s NHL odds. The Kraken lag as a +105 bet on the NHL moneyline, and the total is listed at 6.0.
Canadiens vs. Kraken NHL Betting Odds
These clubs split a pair of games last season including a 5-4 Seattle home victory on March 12, which marked their first home win over the Habs since their first ever meeting back in October 2021.
Overall, the home team has claimed victory in four of the past five meetings between these clubs, and with the total reaching 9.0 or higher in their past three dates, the OVER is currently on a 4-0-1 run.
The Canadiens have enjoyed steady success on the road during the hot start that has lifted them to the top of the Atlantic, winning four of their first six away dates. However, the club has kept loyal fans on the edge of their seats, with seven of their past eight contests getting settled by a single goal including three victories in overtime, most notably a 5-4 victory over the Kraken at Bell Centre on October 15.
The Kraken’s current 2-0-0 run puts the brakes on a 1-2-2 run during which they surrendered 4.20 goals per game. Indeed, the Kraken have settled down considerably on defence during their brief win streak, allowing just two total goals, and have given up just two total even-strength goals during their 3-0-0 start at home.
Montreal Canadiens
Ivan Demidov is coming off his best performance as a Hab. The highly touted rookie potted the game-winning goal and a pair of assists on the power play to lead the Canadiens to Saturday’s 4-3 win over the Canucks. Demidov has now picked up eight points over the past seven games, but with just one or fewer shots on goal in nine of his first 10 outings, he has mustered just two total goals.
Conversely, it was a quiet night for sniper Cole Caufield, who failed to put a puck on net in Vancouver, and has recorded just 10 total shots on goal over the past five games. However, Juraj Slafkovsky picked up the slack with a goal and an assist. Slafkovsky has now potted markers in three of five games and sports -115 odds on the NHL player props to pick up at least a point on Tuesday.
Seattle Kraken
Joey Daccord has played a huge role for the Kraken during their current two-game surge. The Seattle netminder has turned aside 63 of the 65 total shots he has faced over the past two games, but was rocked in the team’s 5-4 overtime loss in Montreal earlier this month, allowing all five goals on just 22 shots.
Daccord’s impressive play comes at the right time for a Kraken squad that has struggled to generate offence, scoring just nine total goals over their past four games, and just six total at even strength. Veterans Jordan Eberle and Jaden Schwartz have remained steady producers. The duo has combined to score six of the team’s seven total goals over the past three games and share the lead in team scoring, each with four goals and four assists.
