The Bruins have enjoyed an offensive outburst during their home surge, averaging five goals per game, and have potted at least four goals in four of their past dates on home ice. The Canadiens saw a promising two-game surge ended by Thursday’s crushing 6-2 loss in Ottawa, which also marked their sixth defeat in their past nine road contests.

The Bruins are set to hit the ice as heavy -300 favourites on the Saturday NHL odds, and are a strong -120 puck line bet to claim victory by at least two goals. The Canadiens are listed as +240 underdogs, and the total is pegged at 6.

Canadiens vs. Bruins NHL Betting Odds

The Bruins have padded their lead atop the Atlantic Division standings while winning their past three overall. However, this team remains prone to streaky results. Since US Thanksgiving, Boston has recorded three win streaks of at least three games each, which have been scattered among three losing streaks of at least three games. However, when the Bruins win, they win big, with 10 of their 13 overall wins over that stretch coning by multi-goal margins.

The Canadiens were denied their first three-game win streak of the season in their lopsided loss to the Senators. Overall, the Habs have lost nine of their past 14 games, and have struggled to score during a 2-4-1 run on the road, generating just 2.71 goals per game. In addition, things haven’t gone well for the Canadiens in recent dates with the Bruins, with the club falling to defeat in 11 of 12 meetings since November 2019 including six straight losses by multi-goal margins at TD Garden in which they potted just nine total goals.

Montreal Canadiens

The Canadiens put up little resistance while getting spanked by the Sens on Thursday night. Ottawa seized control from the get-go, outshooting the Habs by a wide 17-6 margin in the first 20 minutes and 37-23 on the night. That marked the eight time in nine games that the Canadiens have been outshot, with the team allowing 37.3 shots per game over that stretch. Cole Caufield provided one of the few highlights on Thursday with his 15th goal of the season, and has now scored in each of the past four games. However, linemate Nick Suzuki continued to struggle while failing to score for an eighth straight game. However, he has scored three times during a four-game points streak against Boston.

Boston Bruins

While the Bruins have been prone to streakiness, they have regularly avoided losing in regulation, with six of their past nine losses getting settled in overtime or by shootout. The Bruins have helped their own cause by shutting down opposing shooters. The club has allowed just seven total goals over the past four games, with just four of those markers coming at even strength. Up front, David Pastrnak is coning his first hat trick of the season in Thursday’s victory over the Avs, and has turned in multi-point performances in three straight games and five times while compiling 14 points in eight outings. Pastrnak has also piled up 12 points during a five-game points streak versus Montreal, and is a solid -150 wager on the NHL player props to record multiple points for the fourth time in six home dates with the Habs.
