These two are going to see a lot of each other over the next two weeks as they play five times in each team’s next seven games.

Bruins vs. Sabres 4/20/21 Betting Analysis

The -276 favourite Bruins are undefeated against the Sabres this season, but it has not come easy. The Bruins took the season series opener 4-1 and the next one 3-2, but the Sabres took them to a shootout in their last meeting. The Sabres have been much better since their notorious 18-game losing skid, going 6-5 since then. Regardless, they still find themselves dead last in the league.

The three games so far have played the under, scoring a total of five in each one. In fact, these two have not played the over since December 16, 2019, a span of eight games. Tuukka Rask will likely get the nod in net for Boston, he is 2-0 with a 0.929 save percentage since returning from an upper-body injury. For Buffalo, it will likely be Dustin Tokarski who was recently named the first star of the week putting up a .934 save percentage stopping a league-high 128 shots.

The Sabres have been dynamite against the spread recently taking six straight and nine of the past 10.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins’ top two lines have been dangerous during the team’s four-game win streak. Patrice Bergeron, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak or “the perfection line” combine for seven goals and 17 points. Line number two has been red-hot lately since the addition of Taylor Hall. Hall, Craig Smith and David Krejci have put up seven goals of their own alongside a combined 13 points in four games. Coach Bruce Cassidy continues to shuffle his bottom-six forwards looking for some kind of spark.

Boston’s turnaround put them in a position to look up in the standings as opposed to behind them. They are now only six points behind the first-place Capitals with three games in hand.

Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres were eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday following their loss to the Penguins. That marks the tenth year in a row that Buffalo has failed to make the postseason – a new NHL record. Buffalo bounced back and beat the Penguins on Sunday, breaking their point streak at five. Sam Reinhart potted a pair of goals in the 4-2 win which put him at a team-leading 17 goals on the year. Had this season been its full 82 games Reinhart would be on pace to break the 30-goal mark for this first time of his career. Anders Bjork has been a nice addition since joining the team via the Taylor Hall trade, he’s got three points in his four games in Buffalo.
