The Edmonton Oilers have hit their first mini skid of the season as they’ve dropped their last three games, including a 4-1 loss against Minnesota on Tuesday. The Boston Bruins have lost two consecutive tight games, falling 3-2 to Tampa Bay in overtime on Saturday and dropping a 2-1 shootout decision against Vancouver on Wednesday.
Edmonton is a -126 favourite to win on the NHL odds, with a total of 6.0.
Bruins vs. Oilers NHL Betting Odds
This game wraps up the season series after Edmonton won 5-3 in Boston on Nov. 11. Leon Draisaitl had two goals and an assist for the Oilers. That game broke a streak of five straight Unders in the head-to-head series. About 82 per cent of Sports Interaction bettors are favouring Edmonton for this one, while 73 per cent of action is taking the Over.
Boston is starting to turn things around outside of TD Garden as they’ve won four of their last five road games. The Bruins have been a terrible cover option, however, going 8-14 against the spread overall. The total has gone Under in each of Boston’s last five games.

The Bruins couldn’t get much going offensively against Vancouver on Wednesday, despite outshooting the Canucks 36-32. Patrice Bergeron’s second period power-play goal stood as Boston’s only marker of the game. Bergeron is tied with Brad Marchand for the team-lead in goals at nine apiece. Marchand leads the team in points with 24. David Pastrnak and Charlie Coyle both missed their shootout attempts against the Canucks. Jeremy Swayman stopped 31 of 32 shots throughout regulation and overtime, but was beaten on two of three Vancouver attempts in the shootout. Linus Ullmark is expected to get the start on Thursday. Ullmark is 5-4-0 this season with 2.68 goals-against average and .911 save percentage. The 28-year-old has allowed two goals or fewer in each of his last three starts.
Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton continues to be the envy of every team in the league as superstars Connor McDavid (16G, 27A) and Leon Draisaitl (21G, 22A) are now tied with an NHL-best 43 points each. Draisaitl leads the league in goals, while McDavid is No. 1 in assists. Only McDavid found his name on the scoresheet on Tuesday, however, as he picked up an assist on Jesse Puljujarvi’s second period goal. Mikko Koskinen allowed four goals on 26 shots against Minnesota and with Mike Smith looking like he’s not close to returning, Koskinen is expected to get the start again on Thursday. The 31-year-old Koskinen is 12-4-0 this season with a 3.04 GAA and .907 SV.
