The Bruins and Flyers will finish a back-to-back set on Tuesday.  The teams will meet in Philadelphia one day after the Flyers came away with a 3-2 overtime win in Boston.

The Bruins are -131 favourites to win on the NHL odds with a total of 5.5.

Bruins vs. Flyers Betting Analysis

These teams have seen a lot of each other this season.  Boston has won five of six meetings with the Flyers, but keep in mind that four games in this season series have been decided by a single goal, including three games that needed overtime or a shootout.

The Bruins have been about even on the road versus at home this year.  They’re 10-25 against the spread and have only covered in four of 17 road games.  Boston has been an Under team in 11 of their last 14 games overall, including five straight on the road.

Philadelphia hasn’t been great at home up to this point.  The Flyers are 8-7-3 at Wells Fargo Center and have dropped five of their last six home games.  They’re 17-20 ATS, but have only covered in seven of 18 games in Philly.  A lack of consistent goaltending has contributed to the Flyers hitting the Over in 14 of their last 19 games overall.

Boston Bruins

Boston has been struggling with consistency.  They haven’t had to deal with any major losing streaks, but they also can’t seem to string together more than a win or two before picking up another loss.  With the Flyers breathing down their neck for playoff position, they need to be better.  Salvaging a point on Monday was a start for the Bruins.  Patrice Bergeron’s 12th goal of the season was the 899th NHL point, moving him into fourth in Bruins history.  Karson Kuhlman also scored and Daniel Vladar made 29 saves in the loss.  The 23-year-old rookie, Vladar, got the start after Jaroslav Halak was added to the COVID protocol list.  In four career starts, Vladar is 2-1-1 with a 2.25 GAA and .922 SV.  With Tuukka Rask still dealing with an upper-body injury, Vladar was backed up by 22-year-old Jeremy Swayman, who has never played an NHL game.  One of the two rookies will start on Tuesday.  It will either be Vladar playing in a tough back-to-back, or Swayman getting his first NHL start.

Philadelphia Flyers

This is a huge series for Philadelphia.  They trail Boston by three points in the East Division and play them twice more this season (Tuesday and Saturday).  A win in both those games would leapfrog the Flyers into a playoff spot in the final stretch of the regular season.  Travis Sanheim’s second career goal OT goal was the winner on Monday.  Sean Couturier (11th of the season) and Travis Konecny (8th) had the other markers, while Brian Elliott stopped 27 of 29 shots.  Monday’s win broke a five-game losing streak against Boston.  Philly will likely turn to Carter Hart on Tuesday.  Hart has struggled in his second full NHL season and posted an 8-9-4 record with a brutal 3.92 goals-against average and ugly .871 save percentage.  He did look better, however, in a 3-2 loss to the Islanders on Saturday.  Hart stopped 22 of 24 shots through regulation and overtime then denied three of four shooters in the shootout.
