Bruins vs. Flames NHL Betting Odds
Tuesday’s matchup marks the second and final meeting of the season between these clubs. The Bruins skated to a narrow 4-3 victory when the Flames visited TD Garden on November 4 and have now taken four of six in head-to-head action.
Recent dates between these teams have been low scoring, with the total topping 6.0 just twice in their past seven clashes. The Flames have consistently struggled to generate offence when facing the Bruins, scoring an average of just 2.67 goals over their past six meetings but have managed to pick up at least a point in each of their past four dates with Boston. Spotty offence has been an emerging theme for the Flames this season. The club has scored more than three goals just once during their current 3-5-2 run and ranks 26th in the NHL this season with just 2.61 goals scored per game.
The Bruins have overtaken Tampa Bay to claim third place in the Atlantic Division standings during their current 8-4-0 run and have claimed victory by multi-goal margins four times and limited opponents to two or fewer goals on seven occasions over that stretch.
Boston Bruins
After getting embarrassed in back-to-back blowout losses to Winnipeg and Seattle to kick off their current five-game Western swing, the Bruins rebounded with a dominating 5-1 rout of the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night. Those three lopsided contests have extended a steady win streak for sports bettors taking the OVER in totals betting, which has paid out in each of the Bruins’ past five games.
David Pastrnak led the attack in Vancouver with his most productive outing of the season, potting a goal and adding three assists. Pastrnak has now picked up 10 points in seven games this month but has yet to turn in consecutive multi-point performances so far this season. Pavel Zacha also picked up three points to snap a three-game pointless streak on the road. Zacha has also posted nine points while getting on the scoresheet in seven of his past eight appearances versus Calgary and is a -105 bet on the NHL player props to record at least a point on Tuesday night.
Calgary Flames
The Flames’ 3-0 victory over Florida on Saturday night marked their second shutout victory in their past four home games. However, this club has also been prone to defensive lapses and have surrendered five or more goals four times over their past eight outings and 3.70 goals per game during their current 3-5-2 swoon.
Mikael Backlund enjoyed a long overdue big night, scoring his first goal in 15 games and adding a helper to snap a four-game points drought. Backlund’s production filled the void left by Jonathan Huberdeau, who saw a six-game point streak snapped in Saturday’s win but has piled up 13 points in 16 home dates so far this season.
