The Blackhawks arrive on Broadway riding a five-game losing streak, capped by Saturday’s 4-2 loss to Winnipeg, and have also lost six straight on the road going into this week’s three-game swing through the New York area. Things have not gone much better for the Rangers, who dropped a 7-5 decision to the visiting Seattle Kraken on Sunday afternoon that marks their seventh defeat in their past nine outings.

The Rangers’ woes have not dampened their prospects on Monday’s NHL odds, where they lead the way as -250 home favourites and as a short +105 wager on the NHL puckline. The Blackhawks lag as +200 underdogs and the total is pegged at 6.0.

Blackhawks vs. Rangers NHL Betting Odds

The Blackhawks head into the first of two scheduled dates with the Rangers this season looking to snap a three-game slide in head-to-head action. The Rangers swept last year’s season series with a pair of wins including a decisive 4-1 home victory and have now topped the Blackhawks in seven of eight clashes since 2018 while limiting Chicago shooters to just 2.50 goals per game over that stretch and claiming four victories by multi-goal margins.

However, the Rangers have struggled to contain opposing offences during the 2-7-0 swoon that has pushed them to the edge of the Eastern Conference playoff picture, surrendering 4.22 goals per game and at least five goals in three of four home dates.

Meanwhile, the Blackhawks’ offensive woes have continued. Currently mired in 31st place in the NHL in goals per game, the Blackhawks have potted just 2.07 goals per game while losing 11 of their past 14 contests and have scored just nine times during their six-game slide on the road.

Chicago Blackhawks

Now buried in last place in the NHL standings with an 8-17-2 record, the Blackhawks face a daunting task to snap out of their current funk going into a three-game road trip with dates against the Rangers, Islanders, and New Jersey Devils. Chicago shooters have potted just five total even-strength goals during their current 0-5-0 run and have scored just twice after 40 minutes over that stretch.

Defenceman Alex Vlasic has led the feeble attack with his first two goals of the season over the past two games. However, the club’s offensive leaders have been largely quiet. Ryan Donato, the team’s top goal scorer, has scored just three times in 14 games and been held off the scoresheet in his past three outings while Connor Bedard has mustered just one assist overt that stretch, snapping a three-game points streak.

The club will be without rearguard Alec Martinez due to a neck injury. Veteran netminder Petr Mrazek was placed on the IR this weekend with a groin injury, opening the door for Arvid Soderblom to make his third appearance in four games.

New York Rangers

The Rangers look to avoid blowing an early lead for the third time in five games in Monday’s contest. New York blew a multi-goal lead in Sunday’s loss to the Kraken and have now allowed an average of 4.50 goals over their past eight home dates. However, a date with the offensively challenged Blackhawks may be just what the Rangers to rediscover their form in their own zone.

Artemi Panarin has continued to produce. The talented Russian contributed a pair of assists in Sunday’s loss and has now compiled three goals and five helpers during a four-game point streak. Panarin has also filled the net in recent dates with Chicago, scoring eight goals and adding eight assists in his past six appearances versus the Blackhawks and offers solid value as a +130 wager on the Monday NHL player props to turn in another multi-point performance.

Mika Zibanejad has also steadily swung into form while racking up five assists in his past four games but has scored just once in nine games.
