The Jets opened their current four-game homestand with a 5-0 rout of Columbus on Tuesday night, which marks their fifth straight victory on home ice. The Blackhawks dropped a 2-1 decision to the visiting Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday, and arrive in Winnipeg looking to snap an epic 14-game losing streak on the road.
The Jets have emerged as heavy -450 home favourites in Thursday’s first versus worst clash, and also sport strong +120 puckline odds to claim victory by at least three goals. The Blackhawks trail as distant +340 underdogs on the Thursday NHL odds, and the total is listed at 5.5, with -125 odds favouring the OVER.

After producing streaky results over the first two months of the NHL season, the Jets have found their groove. The club has won 15 of 18 contests since the beginning of December and suffered just one regulation loss over that stretch. The Jets have been particularly dominant at home, outscoring opponents by a wide 23-7 margin during their current 5-0-0 surge and have avoided losing in sixty minutes in nine straight home dates. However, Winnipeg’s most recent defeat came when the club visited Chicago on December 27. The Jets fell 2-1 in overtime, but have otherwise dominated in head-to-head action, winning nine of 11 overall meetings and limiting the Blackhawks to just seven total goals in their past six clashes.
Things have gone dramatically different for the Blackhawks, who have lost 12 of their past 15 overall while scoring two or fewer goals 10 times over that stretch. No end to Chicago’s home swoon appears to be in sight. At least not until Blackhawks shooters find a way to generate offence. Chicago has scored just four total goals over their past four road dates, and has been limited to one or fewer goals in eight of their past 11 away contests.

The Blackhawks’ recent woes have been further complicated by a rash of injuries that have sidelined the club’s youngest star and veteran core. In addition to injured rookie phenom Connor Bedard, Chicago is also missing veteran forwards Nick Foligno, Anthony Beauvillier, and Tyler Johnson, as well as top rearguard Seth Jones. Jason Dickinson has done his part to pick up the slack by contributing a point in each of the past three games. Journeyman Colin Blackwell has also been on a tear since the calendar turned to 2024, picking up four points in four games including a two-goal performance in Sunday’s 4-3 win over Calgary.

The Jets have enjoyed contributions from up and down the lineup during their current 7-0 run. Cole Perfetti led the charge in Tuesday’s decisive 5-0 victory over the Blue Jackets, potting two goals and an assist, and has now piled up seven points over the past six games. Nik Ehlers has remained a model of consistency while compiling three goals and three assists during a five-game points streak. Indeed, the Jets have gone 17-0-1 over their past 18 when Ehlers picks up a points. Mark Scheifele also enjoys a four-game points streak, but his status for Thursday is uncertain after he suffered a bad cut to his ear in Tuesday’s victory.
