Chicago Blackhawks vs. Vancouver Canucks Prediction, NHL Odds

It’s game four of a six-game road trip for the Blackhawks, who have yet to win throughout the first three games of this trip. It’s also a homecoming game for Connor Bedard, although he’s yet to score in five outings against his hometown team. Bedard is riding a five-game point streak entering Wednesday but has is goalless in his last three games. The Blackhawks offence is struggling overall, scoring just six times in the three latest road defeats.

Vancouver’s back from a three-game road trip in which they finished 2-1 and got star defenceman Quinn Hughes back in the lineup. The 7-7 Canucks enter Wednesday just outside the West playoff picture and have a big opportunity to make up some ground as they now begin a stretch of four straight home outings.

Puck drop at Rogers Arena goes at 10 p.m. EST with the Canucks a -170 moneyline favourite and the Over/Under at six on the NHL odds.

Blackhawks vs. Canucks NHL Betting Odds

Vancouver comes into Wednesday with a 10-game win streak over Chicago. The Canucks dominance stretches even further back, as they’ve surrendered just two regulation losses to the Blackhawks in their last 20 meetings. The Blackhawks have one win in Vancouver since 2018.

The over has hit in four of Vancouver’s last five home games, but they are just 2-3 in those games. The Canucks are 25th in the NHL this season with 2.71 goals per game, but have found the back of the net at least four times in three of their last five games. Chicago’s allowed a minimum of three goals in five straight games and over the last 10 Blackhawks–Canucks meetings, Vancouver has averaged over four goals per game.

Chicago Blackhawks

Outside of Andre Burakovsky, Chicago’s offensive production is drying up. Burakovsky’s scored in three straight games and is now third on the team with five goals. Before this slump began, the Blackhawks were getting a range of scoring as Burakovsky is one of six skaters with at least three goals this season. Connor Bedard continues to lead the way for Chicago with a team-high 16 points in 13 games. The Blackhawks are down a forward from here are on out though as they put Jason Dickinson on injured reserve prior to Monday’s loss at Seattle.

Spencer Knight got the night off on Monday but should be back between the pipes against Vancouver. Knight has put up good numbers this season, posting a 4-3-2 record with a .913 save percentage.

Vancouver Canucks

Evander Kane is officially on the board as a Canuck. The off-season acquisition potted his first two goals on Monday at Nashville, a game in which the Canucks won 5-4 in overtime. Brock Boeser was the hero, scoring the winner with under seconds remaining in OT. Boeser now has six goals on the season, only trailing Kiefer Sherwood on the team. Sherwood’s nine goals and zero assists on the year is one of the more bizarre NHL stat lines in a long time.

Quinn Hughes returned to the lineup following a four-game absence and logged 28:04 of ice time in Nashville. It’s been a bit of slow star to the season by the superstar d-man’s standards, but the most important thing is he’s healthy. More bodies appear to be getting closer to returning too, as forwards Teddy Blueger and Conor Garland are both rumoured to be close.
