Vikings vs. Seahawks Point Spread: NFL Week 13 Odds, Prediction

That would put undrafted rookie Max Brosmer in line to make his first NFL start against one of the top defences in the NFL. Seattle’s still in the middle of a competitive NFC West division that has three teams with eight wins through the first 12 weeks of the season. And when you’re going toe-to-toe with the NFL’s best, the games against the likes of the 4-7 Vikings are the ones you need to handle business in. Especially when Minnesota trots out a quarterback with eight career pass attempts.

Kickoff at Lumen Field goes at 4:05 p.m. EST, with the Seahawks currently -11.5 on the point spread and the total at 41 on the NFL odds.

NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Seahawks come into this weekend as double-digit favourites but they’ve shown an ability to blow teams out on the regular. Seattle is one of three teams this season with a +100 or better point differential and last week’s six-point win at Tennessee was their closest victory since Week 3. The Seahawks are 5-1 ATS in their last six outings while Minnesota is both 1-5 outright and against the spread in that span.

The over has been the trend for both clubs, with five of Seattle’s last six home games going over the total and the same for Minnesota’s last six outings on the road. Seattle’s third in the NFL with 29.5 points per game, but the problem with the total is they may need to score more than that to reach the 41 number set in this matchup; Minnesota’s scored fewer than 20 points in each of their three-consecutive losses and reminder — it’s an undrafted rookie QB playing now.

Minnesota Vikings

Now the real question with the Vikings offence is, can things really get much worse at the quarterback position with Max Brosmer? Last week’s 23-6 defeat at Green Bay was a low point of the season for both J.J. McCarthy and the offence as a whole. A good starting point to turning this funk around is getting Justin Jefferson more involved. Jefferson saw a season-low six targets last week and has failed to go over 100 receiving yards in six straight outings. He’s never finished under 1,000 yards, and while that is probably going to hold true when the season is all said and done the same can’t be said with his two touchdowns. His career low is five.

Offensive linemen Christian Darrisaw (knee/foot) and Donovan Jackson (ankle) both did not practice Wednesday, which would make this even more of a tough spot for Brosmer under centre.

Seattle Seahawks

It’s time to start monitoring Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s pursuit of the single-season receiving record. JSN is running away with the receiving yards lead this season; he’s one of two players already at 1K yards and his 1,313 yards on the season are over 250 more than any other player. Calvin Johnson set the single-season receiving yards record with 1,964 in 2012 and Smith-Njigba is only 654 back with six games to go. Perhaps more important though is the play of quarterback Sam Darnold, who went without an interception last week for the first time in four games. Darnold led Seattle to a 30-24 win last week, their fifth in their last six games.

Linebacker Ernest Jones IV (knee) looks ready to return after sitting out last week after a setback two weeks ago in his original return. Otherwise, Seattle is pretty healthy right now. Linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (ankle) is the other name to watch after a DNP on Wednesday.
