We have a fascinating NFL Week 4 matchup on our hands on Sunday, as the Tennessee Titans head to Houston to take on the Texans at NRG Stadium. This game has plenty of storylines, as the Titans are still looking for their first victory in the Cam Ward era, while the Texans have let a couple of very winnable games slip away en route to an 0-3 start.
With the Titans trying to turn over a new leaf and the Texans needing a win to stop the bleeding of a very poor start to the season, which side will come out on top in this Week 4 clash? It’s almost time to find out.
Houston is a sizeable seven-point favourite to win on the NFL odds, with the total pegged at 38.5.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Despite their issues over the first three weeks, the Texans are still favoured by seven points over their AFC South rivals to the north. Given the offensive shortcomings that both teams have, it’s not a surprise that this total is in the upper 30s in this game, good for the lowest total on the board.
The Titans are 1-2 against the spread this season, while their games are also 2-1 to the Over. On the other side, the Texans are a whopping 0-3 against the spread this season, with the Under cashing in all three Houston games to this point.
I don’t expect too many scores in this one, and that’s reflected by a few other markets. Both teams to score 20+ points is +260, and if you want to bet on a fun market, you can wager on which team you think will call the first timeout. Both teams carry a -115 price in that market.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans were not expected to be anything special heading into the season, and that has certainly held true to this point, as Tennessee sits at 0-3 on the season with two of those defeats coming by 14+ points.
Cam Ward looks to have real potential in the starting quarterback spot, but the rookie is still working out the kinks within an offence that has struggled to generate consistent success. The Titans defense is also nothing to write home about, allowing 94 points through three games.
Houston Texans
After making the payoffs in each of the last two seasons, Houston is having an extremely difficult 2025 campaign. CJ Stroud appears to have regressed significantly, and the Texans’ offensive line is certainly not helping him in that regard.
Houston has hardly experienced any success on offence to this point, but they could finally get some semblance of a running game going against a depleted Titans defensive front that could be without multiple starters in this one.
NFL Prediction: Who Will Win Titans vs. Texans?
This is an ugly game in the AFC South, one where both teams are likely not going to be attractive to many bettors. Given the low total and the fact that neither offence has looked the part through three weeks, I lean toward Houston picking up a much-needed win, but with a scoreline that is a bit closer than what the market projects.
Let’s back Houston to win as home favourites in Week 4, and we can expect this to be a pretty low-scoring affair between these two struggling offences. The Texans should win this one 23-17.
