The Titans now take a trip to Houston to face off against the Texans – a team that should be far more forgiving. The Texans lost at home to the Cincinnati Bengals last week. For Houston, this game is meaningless, but the Titans need a win here to ensure themselves a spot in the AFC playoffs.

NFL Week 17 Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their past five matchups when coming off of a straight up loss in the game prior. This team should be motivated and ready to extend that to 5-1 this weekend as they were embarrassed their last time out. They are going up against a Texans team that has arguably the worst defense in the league and can expect a huge showing from running back Derrick Henry to bring them to victory.

Houston is 1-4 ATS in their last five games when coming into the matchup as the home underdog and things don’t look very good for them this week. Their defense hasn’t been able to stop anybody – including the Brandon Allen-led Bengals last week. That doesn’t bode well for this week’s showdown.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans are no doubt a playoff-caliber team, but their defense is just not that talented. They are currently ranked 29th in the league in total defense and have one of the worst pass rushes in the league. At 1.0 sacks per game, no team averages less. Luckily, though, they have arguably the best running back in the league in Henry and have complimented him with the perfect quarterback, Ryan Tannehill. The two form a devastating combination that has hurt opposing defenses all season long. They will need that duo to come out firing this week against the 30th-ranked Texans defense that just allowed Brandon Allen and the Bengals offense to put up over 30 points.

Houston Texans

The Texans have arguably the worst roster in the NFL. There is talent spread across the roster, but it looks like the team has zero chemistry and a terrible coaching staff to go along with that. Their defense is downright awful and it has been that way all season long. They are the second-worst run defense in the NFL, giving up 151.7 yards per game, and that’s not a good sign given who they’re facing this week.

On offense, they are led by the young star quarterback Deshaun Watson, but he can only do so much for them as they own a terrible offensive line and have lost numerous receivers throughout the season. Kenny Stills was released, DeAndre Hopkins was traded, Brandin Cooks has missed time due to injury and Will Fuller was suspended for six games. They need a flawless game from Watson along with a few great plays from the defense in order to remain close in this game. Otherwise, it could be another blowout loss for the troubled organization.
