Titans vs. Steelers Point Spread: NFL Week 15 Odds, Prediction
The Titans snapped a two-game slide with last weekend’s 20-0 win over Jacksonville, and now hold a two-game lead over second-place Indianapolis in the divisional standings with just four games remaining. The Steelers tumbled to the bottom of the AFC North standings with last weekend’s 36-28 loss in Minnesota, but have avoided defeat in five straight on home turf.
The Titans have steadily faded since opening at 2.5-point road favourites, and now sit as slim 1.5-point chalk despite garnering the support of 64% of sports bettors. The total has seen plenty of movement, but has settled back at its opening position at 41.5. However, the OVER has attracted a hefty 83% of the betting action.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Sunday afternoon’s matchup at Heinz Field marks the first meeting between these AFC rivals since October 2020. The Steelers have claimed the win in three straight head-to-head matchups, and have won four of five on home turf during a 7-3 record against Tennessee. Recent dates between these teams have also tended to be high scoring. The total has topped 50 in three straight matchups, fueling a 4-1-1 run for the OVER. Neither of these teams have consistently rewarded sports bettors this season. The Steelers have failed to cover in consecutive outings while going 5-8 against the spread, but have covered in four of six as underdogs. And after opening their schedule on a 9-2 against the spread, the Titans have covered just once in their past four.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans offence has struggled while tallying just 15.3 points per game during their current 1-2 run. Injuries have played an obvious role in those scoring struggles, particularly with both Derrick Henry and AJ Brown on the shelf indefinitely. Tennessee will be expecting Julio Jones to take the next step after suffering no setbacks in his return from injury last weekend. However, the veteran receiver has yet to find the end zone in seven appearances this season, topping 60 receiving yards just once during that stretch. Complicating matters is recent steady performance of the Pittsburgh secondary, which has racked up five interceptions over the past four games.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger did not participate in Wednesday practice, as he continues to nurse both shoulder and pectoral injuries, and remains listed as questionable for Sunday’s contest. Big Ben has continued to produce during the team’s recent swoon, connecting on nine scoring passes over his past four outings. And it would be a big blow to the Pittsburgh defence if he is limited or unavailable considering the recent woeful performance of the Steelers ground game, which has produced just two total scores while averaging under 90 yards over the past five games. Linebacker TJ Watt also remains questionable with a groin injury after producing a season-low one tackle in last week’s loss to Minnesota.
