Titans vs. Steelers Point Spread: NFL Pre-Season Week 3 Odds, Prediction
Bettors get a look at Ben Roethlisberger on the field for the first time since last year’s playoffs when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Tennessee Titans on Saturday night. The Steelers are averaging 32.5 points in pre-season games this August.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Pittsburgh is scoring points for fun in the exhibition schedule and the Over is 8-2 in its last 10 games overall – including the post-season. Big Ben hasn’t played a snap in a game since last winter when the Yellow and Black were bounced from the playoffs by the Jacksonville Jaguars despite Roethlisberger’s five TD passes in the game.
Despite the Over streak, the Under is 29-17 in Pittsburgh’s pre-season games since Mike Tomlin was made the head coach. The Steelers are 26-22 straight up and 22-26 against the spread since Tomlin took over in 2007.
Former New England Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel is the new man in charge in Tennessee. The first-time NFL head coach is still seeking his first win after seeing the Titans drop both of their pre-season matchups this summer. They’re 0-2 ATS and the Over is 2-0 in their games this month.
Tennessee Titans
Tennessee made the playoffs a year ago, but the club will need a better season from Marcus Mariota for a return to the playoffs. The fourth-year quarterback tossed just 13 TDs and turned the ball over 17 times in 15 games in 2017.
Derrick Henry is the unquestioned No. 1 running back after veteran back DeMarco Murray lead the team in carries a year ago. Henry showcased his ability in his playoff debut by running for 156 yards and adding another 35 yards receiving in a 22-21 win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh is the two-time defending AFC North champion and a -331 favourite to finish atop the division again this season on the NFL odds board.
Running back Le’veon Bell is again skipping the Steelers’ training camp and most expect this will be his last season in a Pittsburgh uniform. Backup tailback James Connor collected 57 rushing yards and a touchdown on five carries against the Green Bay Packers last week.
Pittsburgh’s first-team starters are expected to play at least the first two series on Saturday against Tennessee. Longtime Pittsburgh quarterbacks coach Randy Fichtner is the new OC after the Steelers parted ways last winter with Todd Haley.
