Titans vs. Dolphins Point Spread: NFL Week 14 Odds, Prediction
The Miami Dolphins are priced as big 13.5-point favourites.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
Early this season when the NFL had two Monday night doubleheaders, the league staggered the start times a bit but that’s not the case this Monday as Titans-Dolphins (on ESPN) and Packers-Giants (on ABC) both kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET.
Miami is tied with Baltimore at 9-3 atop the AFC, but the Dolphins currently win the tiebreaker because of a better conference record. If the Fins win out, they top seed belongs to them and four of their final five are at home including this one. The lone road game? In Baltimore on Dec. 31.
Tennessee probably had been looking ahead to next season for a few weeks now but officially following a home loss to Indianapolis on Sunday to fall to 4-7 and 15th in the AFC. This is all about getting rookie quarterback Will Levis experience.
Including when the Titans were the Houston Oilers, the Dolphins lead all-time 21-18 with one playoff matchup in there. They last played in Week 17 of the 2021 season in Nashville and Tennessee rolled 34-3, but that Titans team finished as the AFC’s top seed and Miami just 8-8 as there remained major questions about QB Tua Tagovailoa. Coach Brian Flores was fired after that season and replaced by Mike McDaniel, who has turned Tua into an MVP candidate and the Fins into Super Bowl contenders.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans lost 31-28 in OT at home to Indianapolis on Sunday, allowing the go-ahead touchdown pass with 2:31 left. Clearly coach Mike Vrabel had one person in mind to blame for that defeat as he fired special teams coach Craig Aukerman on Monday. The Colts returned a blocked punt for a touchdown, and Titans punter Ryan Stonehouse fumbled on a second punt attempt and injured his knee. He’s out for the season. Star running back and former Offensive Player of the Year Derrick Henry rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns but left in the fourth quarter to be checked for a concussion and didn’t return. The team said he has no symptoms. Henry is second in the NFL with 841 rushing yards and has eight rushing scores. Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons hurt his knee in the fourth quarter and likely misses at least two games. The Titans signed Simmons to a four-year contract extension worth $94 million (US) this off-season.
Miami Dolphins
Miami is 3-0 out of the bye week with its defence not allowing more than 15 points in any. If that continues, this team probably will reach the Super Bowl because the offence can be unstoppable as it was Sunday in a 45-15 win in Washington. Tua Tagovailoa was a very efficient 18-for-24 for 280 yards and two scores, both to Tyreek Hill, who caught five balls for 157 yards. Tua might win MVP and Hill Offensive Player of the Year. Hill absolutely has a case for MVP as well, but no receiver has won it. If he gets to the magic number of 2,000 yards, the voters might have no choice. He’s on pace for nearly 2,100. Starting linebacker Jerome Baker left in the first half with a knee injury and didn’t return. Sounds like he will miss at least this week but not go on season-ending IR. Starting right guard Rob Hunt is also week-to-week after aggravating a hamstring injury that sidelined him for three games earlier this season.
