Titans vs. Chargers Point Spread: NFL Week 10 Odds, Prediction
The Chargers return home after posting a convincing 27-10 win in Cleveland last weekend and have now seen four of their six victories to date come by double-digit margins. The Titans travel to the west coast looking to tally consecutive wins for the first time in almost two years after topping the visiting New England Patriots 20-17 last weekend, but have work to do to put the brakes on a brutal 2-13 run in their past 15 road contests.
The Chargers lead the way as 7.5 home favourites on the NFL Week 10 odds. The Titans trail as +300 underdogs on the NFL moneyline and the total is pegged at 39.0.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
These AFC rivals will face off for the third time in as many seasons on Sunday afternoon. The Titans have taken two of three from the Chargers, capped by last year’s early-season 27-24 win in Tennessee. The Titans’ recent success comes in the wake of a dismal 1-11 slide in head-to-head action, which includes defeats in nine straight road dates with the Chargers since 1993.
Despite that shaky track record, the Titans have also paid out steadily on the NFL odds when facing the Chargers, going 3—2-1 against the spread in their past six overall matchups and have seen each of their three most recent head-to-head road losses come by just a single score. But overall, the Titans remain a massive betting disappointment, covering the spread just once during a dismal 2-6 start and have fallen to defeat by an average margin of 31 points in two outings this season while pegged as road underdogs by seven or more points.
Conversely, the Chargers have posted just two ATS losses and thanks to a stingy defence, they have seen the OVER go 7-1 this season.
Tennessee Titans
After suffering crushing road losses to Detroit and Buffalo, the Titans were relieved to return home last week to a date with the last-place Patriots. Tennessee was lit up for 83 total points in their road losses to the Lions and Bills but have been more successful at containing opposing offences on home turf, allowing just 21 points per game.
However, with starting passer Will Levis on the shelf due to injury, points have continued to come at a premium, with the Titans averaging fewer than 14 points per game in their past three outings with Mason Rudolph under centre. It is looking increasingly likely that Levis will return to action on Sunday. The challenge for Levis will be to develop the same chemistry that Rudolph has found with receivers Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Ridley has averaged 86 receiving yards in Rudolph’s three recent starts while Westbrook-Ikhine has made scoring catches in four straight appearances.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have kept pace with undefeated Kansas City in the AFC West standings with back-to-back decisive wins, capped by another dominating defensive performance in last week’s win over the Browns. The Chargers now lead the NFL with just 12.6 points allowed per game and have slammed the door on opposing rushers, who have produced just three total scoring runs while committing seven fumbles to date.
While the LA defence has done its thing, quarterback Justin Herbert has steadily rounded into form, tossing for two scores in each of the past two games and has avoided throwing a pick in six straight outings. While running back J.K. Dobbins hasn’t reached 100 rushing yards since Week 2, he has consistently found the end zone, running for three scores over the past two games and six total TDs so far this season.
